Pre-Lab: Importance of Light in Photosynthesis Light Bubbles
distanc per
Bubbles are given off by the plant through photosynthesis. By measuring e (cm) minute
the rate at which the bubbles are produced it is possible to tell how fast the plant is
50
photosynthesizing.

VIRTUAL LAB: Go to: https://amrita.olabs.edu.in/?sub=79&brch=16&sim=126&cnt=4

Next, you will be conducting an experiment using the simulation from the website
to determine which light spectrum greatly affects the rate of photosynthesis.
Assume that all conditions (e.g. soil, moisture and plant, etc..) other than color are
the same.

Procedure:
1. Select the power source.
2. Select the distance of the power source.
3. Select the color of the light/filter.
4. Then, press start.
5. Record the bubbles per minute for each of the following light distances.
Then graph your data. Be sure to label the axes, give units, use
appropriate intervals, and give a descriptive title.
