Activity 10: Paper Weaving
Directions: Make your own banig or mat using cut strips of colored paper. Watch the
video on the given youtube link to see the correct procedure for paper weaving.

Materials needed: 2 different colored paper,
scissor, ruler, pencil, glue;
Procedure:
1. Take the first piece of colored paper and
fold it in half. With a ruler and pencil,
measure about a centimeter or more and
mark with a pencil along the length of
the paper.

2. Cut the folded paper in half but make sure not to cut all the way through by
leaving an inch of the paper uncut. Unfold it to see evenly space slots to use
for weaving.
3. For the strips of paper to used for weaving, get the other piece of paper, fold
and measure same way that was done with the first paper. This time cut all
the way through.
4. Following the over and under method, weave the strips of paper through the
slot of the first paper alternately.
5. Use glue or adhesive tape to keep the strips in place when done.

Activity 11: Festival Headress or Costume


Directions: Draw own design of a festival headress or costume for any of the festivals
celebrated in the Visayas Region. Use the box for your drawing or a oslo paper and color
it to give life to your design.
