Trojan War

By: Homer

Part I: Summary of the Work

When we look back in history, we see a lot of strife, power struggles and especially wars. If I'm
looking for Greek literature, Homer's Trojan War is the first thing that comes to my mind. And this battle
began with the Trojan prince Paris kidnapping Queen Helen of Sparta. The Grecians arrive, led by
Achilles and his Myrmdions, and decimate the Trojan fortifications. The peaceful Normal World has been
left behind, and the exciting world of battle has begun.

The lives of these characters will never be the same again. By taking credit for Achilles' triumph
and then exacting tribute from Achilles in the shape of the captive temple attendant Briseis,
Agamemnon alienates Achilles. Achilles tries to defend her, but she informs him that no one else should
die for her. The Pinch Points in this film are an interesting choice because they center on Agamemnon
(the adversary) and the stakes he faces. Paris challenges Helen's husband Menelaus to a duel, only to
back out, forcing the two armies to fight. The Trojans win this game, allowing them to move away from
response and toward action.

Achilles challenges Hector to a duel, but Hector is killed in the process. He then desecrates
Hector's body by dragging him back to the Grecian camp after dragging him around the city walls. On
many levels, this is a terrible point: Hector dies, and with him, Troy's best chance of victory.
The Grecians utilize Odysseus' plan to penetrate Troy's fortifications using a massive wooden horse that
is intended to be a gift to the god Poseidon. The Grecians start killing the residents of Troy.
Paris kills Achilles by shooting him through the fatal heel.
Briseis, Hector's wife, as well as Paris and Helen, all leave Troy via a secret passage. The burial pyre of
Achilles is revered by the Grecians.

Part II: Reflections/Insights

This vast epic's greatest flaw is its own sprawl. Achilles, who is clearly the main character, is
responsible for the most of the significant structural moments. The flow of the event, however, are all
distorted to focus on different characters. As a result, the general emphasis and structure are focus to
the characteristics of the characters. This Greek narrative has provided me with a wealth of information
as to why I am already familiar with several Greek Gods and their qualities, which have had a significant
impact not only because of their fictional nature, but also because of their ability to affect our culture
and tradition.

I also noticed that, according to the tale, it had many Gods, which could be the source of the
people's terror and blessing. However, some people have an intense thirst for power, a personal
yearning that could lead them to violate God and go to war. That is, even if there were Gods, mankind
still committed sins. Gods were regarded as the leaders of the humans in the story. And, if we look at
today's leaders, whether brilliant or not, if the people do not follow them, it makes no sense.

Because the systems and people are the fundamental problems of the group, community, and
country, it will remain the same regardless of who the leader is. To my mind, if we want peace and
high-quality leadership, we must start with ourselves. Every problem has a solution, and every solution
requires sacrifice; let us make adjustments, and let us change ourselves.
