1. Define personality and explain the factors that influence one’s personality.

- Personality is someone’s usual pattern of behavior, feelings and thoughts.


Personality refers to the unique characteristic of a person to adjust to life, traits,
interest, values.

There are some factors that influence one’s personality

- Genetic - Where people inherited his personality. It runs in the family


- Parents – The influence of parents to their children and how they treat them.
- Peers – People adopt what his/her friends is doing and follow what is in demand to
them.
- Birth Order – Other people specially the being second one affects their behavior in
how they mingle to the family. Usually they get jealous in the first born and the
youngest.

2. How can personality be considered a hub topic in the social sciences? Explain what fields of study go
into trying to understand personality.

Personality can be considered a hub topic in the social science if it concern on Clinical
Psychology, Neuroscience, Development Psychology, Social Psychology, Industrial
Psycology.

Personality Psychology is the field of study trying to understand personality. It examines


personality and its variation among individual. It study how a person could cope in
different circumstances and critical situations.

3. Dissect the person–situation dynamic. How does each contribute to our understanding of behavior,
and what are the four factors that we need to consider as we negotiate the interaction between the
two?
- Situation – The other people and the physical environment surrounding a person
- Physical Environment – The environment affects the mood of a person in his/her
behavior.

4 Factor

- Personality can be impacted by experience – Peoples changes personality as they


grow older
- People respond differently to the same situation – Some peoples want to be always
in the picture or always want to be in front while others are contented as
backgrounds.
- People choose their situations – Choosing what you are comfortable.
- People change the situations they enter – These people know how to get attention
and can get other attentions and change the situation when they are present.
