Flow State (working title) - Game Plan – Subject to revision

Genre/Tags

Story-driven, sci-fi, top-down puzzle, exploration, problem-solving.

Title

Flow State could refer to: (i) the state a person enters when in a natural state of calm focus
(ii) the flow of electrical current/water and the state of a device or switch.

The game title may incidentally attract people who are interested in meditation practices or
altered states of consciousness (and/or those with an interest in nature and technology)

Platform and Regions

The prototype will be developed in Unreal Engine, beginning with PC (Keyboard and
Mouse/Xbox 360/Steam controller support) The prototype language version will be
English.

Target Audience

PEGI -12

Setting

Time and place: set in a future time 2022+ , 2030 minimum future time reference. The
game begins in an underground industrialized production plant. A story-driven event
occurs midway through the game that transports the player to an outdoor surface
environment.

Characters

A middle-aged android as the main player character.

A holographic cat helper.

Various robots/androids that may be interacted with, some of whom can be talked to,
others which can be possessed or controlled by the player character, such as robotics and
equipment.

Game Mechanics
Activating and using robotics/machinery to complete ‘puzzles’: time-limited tasks, task
sequences with aspects of strategic planning, structured random events, energy and
power-limited tasks, physics/gravity/light-based puzzles.

The prototype must be able to be enjoyed by the widest range of cognitive ability possible,
and tasks should be fairly easy to complete.
