'' MOVIE REVIEW’’

TITLE: THE TERMINAL

Ⅰ. Plot:
The Terminal is about a man from Krakozhia named Viktor
Navorski. Viktor arrived at the airport but couldn't enter since his
country was at war and the new government was not yet
established and recognized. Viktor had to adapt and live at the
terminal indefinitely and he had to face the temptations of wanting
to enter the United States illegally. He was stranded for months in
the airport and had to live there. Since he was stuck in the airport,
Viktor couldn't fulfill his deceased father’s wish of getting a picture
signed by Benny Golson, a jazz player since his father loved jazz
so much.

Ⅱ. First Impression:
My first impression was that the movie was so good and the casting
was so good. The movie looked happy but it was kinda sad. This
movie taught me many lessons like don’t break a promise and that
we should always be resourceful.

Ⅲ. Commentary:
Viktor Navorski- Tom Hanks was so good and was so into his
character in the movie and I was surprised how good his acting was
when I first watched it.

Frank Dixon- Stanley Tucci was the best person they got to act as
Frank. His acting was so insane that it made me hate his character
cause his character was the antagonist (villain) of the movie.

Amelia Warren- Catherine Zeta-Jones was a great choice to pick for

the role of Amelia cause she played the role very well. She also did
a great job playing the role that made me dislike her too cause she
betrayed Viktor for someone else.

Ⅳ. Plot Analysis

Setting: It was filmed at the Montreal–Mirabel International

Airport in Mirabel, Canada due to a lack of suitable airports. Some
parts of the movie is also filmed at the LA/Palmdale Regional
Airport in Palmdale, California

Exposition: Airport
Viktor Navorski arrived at the airport but he got stuck for months
since his country Krakozhia was at war.

Conflict:
He is unable to leave the airport since his passport was not valid
and was not approved by the US and his country Krakozhia was at
war and was not recognized by nations.

Rising Action:
Viktor started living in the airport since his passport was not
considered valid and approved and adapted to the life of living in an
airport. He started learning English and started to wait for the time
he could go to New York and lived in the airport for months.

Climax: Viktor was given a one-day visa from Amelia but Frank
refuses to sign it. He threatens Viktor to go home immediately or Gupta,
His friend who is a janitor in the airport, will be deported back to India.
Viktor wanted to give in but Gupta wouldn’t let Viktor’s dreams of coming to
the US be ruined. He runs to the runway and stops an aeroplane from
taking off. He is then arrested by the police and deported back to his
country.
Falling Action:
Viktor tried to go outside the airport doors, but was stopped by
security guards who were blocking the doors. Frank ordered the
chief security guard to arrest Viktor but the guard didn’t do what
Frank told him and instead gave him his coat and told Viktor ‘’It’s
snowing outside’’. He then lets Viktor go through the airport doors
and the people in the airport were very happy for him.

Conclusion:
Viktor finally entered America for the first time in his life and called a
taxi and he toured the amazing New York City and found the hotel
that he was supposed to go to. He then went inside to find a jazz
player who was named Benny Golson. He found Benny and got his
autograph signed. Viktor was happy that he now fulfilled his father’s
wish and was crying happy tears when he heard Benny play jazz
music for the first time in forever. He then went on a taxi and left the
hotel.

Ⅴ. Evaluation:
The Terminal was very successful and grossed $77.9 million in
North America, and $141.2 million in other territories, totaling
$219.4 million worldwide. It was a hit movie and was very popular in
all countries when it was released.

Ⅵ. Final Recommendation:
I recommend this movie for everyone to watch it even though there
are some scenes that are not for kids and it's not usually the type of
movie that you normally watch. This movie is appropriate for all
ages and it’s pretty family-friendly as well.
