Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter contains the methods that was used by the researchers

conducting this study. Chapter 3 is consisting of four parts; (1) Research

Design, (2) Sampling Procedure, (3) Instrument, (4) Data Collection

Procedure.

This chapter includes the research design that describes the type of

quantitative research that was used in the study and a justification of the

selected research design. Sampling Procedure, the process of selecting a

number of individuals for a study in such a way that the individuals selected

represent a large group from which they were selected. Descriptions of the

participants and how they were selected. Research Instrument, the tool used

to gather data in the research study. Lastly, the Data Collection Procedure,

specifies the data collection method that have been used. It also contains a

summary of each step in the implementation of the data collection.

Research Design

The study aims to elaborate the effect of product quality to the customer's

experience and expectation in online shopping among Accountancy, Business

and Management students.

In this study, the researchers used descriptive research design to define the

effects of the two variables to one another. The variables that were used in

this study is online shopping and product quality. During the start and the

peak of the pandemic, online shopping became a trend, up until now. It is

mainly used by people especially by the students, because of its convenience.

That being the case, the researchers aim to elaborate the effect of the product

quality to the experience, expectation and satisfaction of the ABM students in

Electron College of Technical Education in terms of online shopping.

Sampling Procedure

Participants selected in this study are from the Academic Track of

Accountancy Business and Management Strand of Grade 12 Students. Using

the Non-probability Sampling Technique, the researchers chose a sample

from the target population. The selected population has three sets and

students from each set will be selected as participants. The sample size of

respondents from the population selected in this study are 30 Grade 12

Accountancy Business and Management, consisting of 15 male and 15

female students. 10 Students, 1:1 ratio from each set of Grade 12

Accountancy Business and Management Strand will be selected using the

Quota Sampling Method to fulfill the necessary data to complete this study.

These participants are chosen by the researchers as they are the one suited

to answer the given questions in the survey to fulfill the information needed by

the researchers conducting this study.

Research Instrument

An instrument to gather and measure the collected data was used to justify

the accuracy of the study. In this study, the researchers used a survey

questionnaire distributed to the chosen sample from the population of

Accountancy Business and Management Strand of Grade 12 Students

The first part of the survey explains the purpose of the study and the

researchers of the study. It also contains an explanation about the information

needed from the respondents and how it will be used in the study.

The second part of the survey is a demographic form to collect the basic

information of the respondents. Additionally, the second part also includes

what set/section the respondent came from.

The survey questionnaire contains two sets of questions. Questions are

answerable by an ordinal scale. The first set of questions contains choices

that identifies frequency; (1.) never, (2.) rarely, (3.) sometimes, (4.) often, (5.)

always. On the other hand, the second set of questions contains choices that

identifies Satisfaction; (a.) Very Dissatisfied, (b.) Dissatisfied (c.) Satisfied, (d.)

Very Satisfied.

Data Collection Procedure

The study was done. Included the planning were the preparation of source of

data in surveying respondent were included in the study. Formulation of

question statement regarding the study was also done on the month of

January. During the last part of January and early part of month of February,

pre-surveying of related literature and related studies was conducted in

Electron College of Technical Education. Internet resources were browsed for

addiction. Literature and studies development of research methodology was

also done simultaneously in the month of February.

The researcher secured approved letter to conduct the study from the office of

the teachers at Electron College during the first week of February.

After securing the permit, the researcher was immediately worked on the

revision of research questionnaire instrument that was validated by some

experts in the field.
