Part 3: Write a letter

A friend of yours has written to you, asking for some advice. He wants to visit
your country for three weeks this summer and would like to know which places to visit,
where to stay, what sights to see, and what clothes to bring. Write to him, giving as many
suggestions as you can and mentioning any national customs that may seem strange to
him. (At least 150 words)

Dear Joslyn,
I am glad to hear that you will visit to my country for three weeks this summer. I know this is the
first time you have come to Vietnam, so I will give you some advice.
You will have plenty of choices to choose where to stay. There are many well - equipped homestays
with affordable price. Otherwise, if you would like to be in a more luxurious places, you can choose
hotels. However, hotels are quite expensive, so I think you should stay in homestay.
There are some of places that you can visit during your trip. Our capital - Hanoi is the best
destination.This is the cultural symbol of Vietnam, you are able to experience many Vietnamese
traditional activities, enjoy the most delicious cuisine like: Phở, cốm, bánh mì, etc. and visit some
destinations such as: The Temple of Literature, One Pillar pagoda, 36 old quarters,… to find out
more about or history and culture. In addition, you should come to Hoi An, Quang Nam. It is an
ancient town with thousands of lanterns decorated everywhere. You will experience a boat ride to
go sightseeing, the scenery is similar to be in a fairy tale. You can not forget to visit Dak Nong
Global Geopark. There is the largest volcanic cave in Southeast Asia with the diversity of strange
ecological system. You will have the chance to explore inside the cave and find out about species
there.
Finally, you do not have to bring many clothes. When you arrive, it’s dry season here. Thus, you
can bring casual clothes like: T-shirt, skirt, shorts, etc. In addition, Dak Nong is famous for brocade
items. This cloth is also suitable for dry season, so you can order to own some brocade clothes.
They will never make you disappointed!
