Setting change- day, hot, urbanised land
Write up:
The golden rays if the immense sun was gradually overtaken by the overpowering darkness
of the shadows. The soft, gentle blow of wind accumulated into waves of cold, musty air.
Although the daylight was stripped of any cool breeze; the night was a devoid of the
comforting warmth, which was unsurpassed in the day. A bitter stench of smoke wrapped
around the vulnerable strands of polished hair, latching onto them like malnourished
leaches, infecting it with its grimy texture.
In contrast to our modern society, the native tribe thrived in their unusual habitat. Their
faces were decorated with abnormal piercings, which left rings of stretched out flesh.
Although it they were unreliable, they slept in huts built with wood and straw. They had
curtains embroidered with unique motifs of patterns. Similarly, the men had unusual bumps
– their form of beauty – splayed across their arms in symmetrical patterns. Due to their
active lifestyles the inhabitants were healthy, living long, memorable lives, which would
seem inhumane in comparison to our slothful lives.
Small, lively insects rushed across the cooled blanket of sand, camouflaged by the darkness.
The coarse grains of sand was thrown behind with their miniscule limbs. The dull, yet bright
moon shone in the dark night sky, which highlighted the bugs by reflecting stray rays of light
on their distinctive shells. The defensive scorpions cast large shadows across the vast sea of
sand, displaying their intimidating stingers in the air and snapping their jagged claws.
Although it seemed to take a matter of seconds, the sun gradually rose into the centre of
the tranquil, blue sky illuminating the urbanised land which replaced the once deserted
landscape. An aroma of fried food engulfed the bustling streets, which were overwhelmed
by the infinite traffic. Although they originally repelled the area, birds few into the city,
perching on the edge of tall buildings. Their heads twitched from side to side, staring at
passers with their beaded, abnormally placed eyes. The houses were now constructed with
layers of bricks and concrete, insulated with fibreglass or other ranges of foam insulation.
Spoilt children misused their finite time on technology, arrogant of the beauty of the
atmosphere.
