- The Effects of Global Climate Change on Agriculture
- This research paper discusses how climate change is affecting agriculture. It is
useful because it provides a thorough background with specific quantitative data
that could be leveraged. It discusses the emittance of greenhouse gasses as well as
other contributors to climate change. It is also helpful because it discusses how
humans are adapting to rising temperature and how we are attempting to resolve
farming struggles.
- Growing polarization around climate change on social media
- This article is a research study on the use of Twitter to discuss climate change and
how this contributes to growing polarization between different opinions. Some
support the development of new technologies in agriculture and others support
sustainable farming, while others blatantly disagree with agriculture as a whole.
Twitter is a useful platform to follow because many politicians, influencers, and
everyday normal people use it. This would be a useful article for my research
paper because it is a way to gauge how the public views the occurrences in the
field of agriculture.
- Do green women influencers spur sustainable consumption patterns? Descriptive
evidences from social media influencers
- This research study takes a more focused approach by analyzing how female
influencers who support sustainable brands are changing the marketing game.
This research article is interesting because it provides evidence on how green
women attract more online traffic regarding sustainable, clean, green beauty
brands. This would be an interesting angle for my research project because it
shows the impact recent generations and social media has on different fields. It
demonstrates how micro influencers create “real” and impactful change, rather
than beauty bloggers who do this as a hobby.

- Social media effects on publicity of climate change
- Social media influencers + climate change
- How does agriculture contribute to climate change?
- What is sustainable agriculture?

CHOOSE 3 BOOKS:
- Climate Change and Food Security
- This book discusses how climate change affects the agricultural community,
which in turn could negatively impact food security. It provides another unique
lens of less developed countries and how they may struggle with the difficulty of
growing foods. The book also highlights innovative ways underdeveloped
countries are dealing with rising temperatures and crops. They mention how these
ideas could be great starting points for larger companies to analyze and possibly
use in a more advanced technology world.
-

- Combating Climate Change: An Agricultural Perspective

- This book is especially interesting because it discusses how agriculture
contributes to climate change. This is sort of a reversal of my other sources and
brings a sense of irony on the topic. This leverages different experts in their fields
to discuss how the production of crops can add greenhouse gasses through
machinery, how pesticides add to air pollution, and wasteful water practices. It
also discusses actual methods to counteract climate change but, the main points I
would want to add into my research project would revolve around the listed
topics.
-

- Modeling the Adaptations of Agricultural Production to Climate Change

- This book compiles a lot of different research studies related to climate change
and varying temperatures with agriculture. There are many different topics they
cover. One I thought was interesting is their methods of machine learning to
increase wheat crop yields. This book uses models to explain their findings.
Models are basically simulations of how things could play out as they change
different variables that don’t necessarily hurt the environment. It is more based on
observations that already exist. This is a useful method to test what strategies
could be useful without actually wasting the resources to conduct these
experiments.

New Leads:
- Looking through these topics with a political lens
- Looking through these topics with an economic lens (lots of sources for this)
