Azim Premji University was established in Bengaluru
in 2010 with the vision to contribute to the realisation
of a just, equitable, humane and sustainable society.
The Azim Premji Foundation set up the University as
a fully philanthropic, not for profit entity with a clear
social purpose.
The availability of trained professionals in education,
development and allied social sectors in India is
grossly inadequate, given the scale, complexity of
issues and the wide range of competencies required
to work in these areas. Azim Premji University’s key
mission is to address this significant talent gap and
prepare competent, motivated and socially
committed graduates capable of contributing to a
just, equitable, humane and sustainable society.
Our Postgraduate Programmes
M.A. Education
(Two Years, Full Time) Bengaluru & Bhopal
A unique broad-based programme that includes theory,
practice, research, policy and planning in education.
Careers opportunities: Roles such as Programme
Associates/Managers, Curriculum Designers, Teacher
Educators, School Leaders, Researchers, etc in the
education field.
M.A. Development
(Two Years, Full Time) Bengaluru
The programme seeks to prepare individuals capable of
informed and thoughtful development action.

Associates/Managers, Researchers and other exciting
profiles in organisations working in the domains of
livelihoods, sustainability, public health, social
entrepreneurship, etc.
M.A. Economics
(Two Years, Full Time) Bengaluru
The programme (with specialisation in Development
and Policy) is uniquely designed to develop the next
generation of economists with the theoretical
knowledge and technical skills to perform
high-quality analysis grounded in the institutional,
developmental and ecological context of
contemporary India.
Career opportunities: A range of engaging career
options available within the areas of development,
public policy and economics.
Master of Public Health (MPH)
(Two Years, Full Time) Bhopal
This programme is aimed at early career professionals and
designed to build a cohort of public health practitioners who
are grounded in the values of equity, rights, and social justice
Career opportunities : Roles as Public health specialists in
Program Management (design, monitoring and evaluation,
implementation), Community engagement (mobilisation,
advocacy, health vulnerability assessment, communications),
Interventions specialists and Research analysts.

Scholarships & Financial Assistance
• Extensive need-based scholarships.
Students with an annual family income of less than
`7 Lakhs per annum are eligible for different levels
of scholarships
• Guaranteed 50% tuition fee waiver for applicants with
3 years of work experience after graduation.
Azim Premji University - Bhopal
Over the last decade, the work towards education for
social change has taken deep roots. Using this experience
and knowledge, the Foundation has announced the
setting up Azim Premji University, Bhopal.
The new campus is situated in Kanhasayia, Bhopal.
The 50-acre campus will have state-of-the-art facilities
including academic blocks, auditoriums, sports
infrastructure, a library, student hostels and residences
for University members.
The full-time programmes have commenced from
August 2023. The University at Bhopal will work
synergistically with our University at Bengaluru.
