Expressions Numbers
1. (x+y)+(2x+y) 1. (22+i)+(19+3i)
2. (2x-5)-(x+17) 2. (56-5i)-(45+17i)
Multiplication on Complex Numbers
In getting the product of two
complex numbers we just have the
FOIL(first last outer inner) method then
simplify and remember that 𝑖 = −1 or
2

we can use Complex Arithmetic Rule

(a+bi) (c+di)= (a.c – b.d) + (a.d + b.c)i
Simplify the following multiplication
on complex numbers:
1.(2-3i)(5+i)
2.(3+5i)(6-7i)
3. 4𝑖 8 − 3𝑖 (2 + 𝑖)
