It appears that the election of the Teachers’

Representative as well as Non-Teaching Staff

Representative of the relevant college was held on May

10, 2023 for reconstitution of the Governing Body.

It appears that there was a general extension of

the terms of the Governing Body at the instance of the

State by a notification dated June 27, 2023. Although

the elections were held on May 10, 2023, the Governing

Body was not reconstituted by placing the departmental

nominee by the State and the university’s nominee.

Prima facie, I am satisfied that the general

extension order dated June 27, 2023 as aforesaid

applies to this college and therefore the election held on

May 10, 2023 cannot be given effect to.

The respondents shall file affidavit-in-opposition

within three weeks from date; reply thereto, if any, may

be filed by the petitioner within one week thereafter.

List this matter after four weeks under the

heading ‘Hearing’.
