So, good evening, everyone.

I am Kriesha and I am assigned to discuss Republic Act Numbered 9293

Which is an Act Amending Certain Sections of Republic Act
Numbered 7836 (R.A. No. 7836) or also known as the Philippine Teachers Professionalization

So, this republic act was made to make minor changes or to improve some of the sections
from the RA 7836.

So let’s start.

So we have here Section 1 which states the amendments from Sec 15 of RA 7836
Which is the Qualification Requirements of Applicants that states that no applicant shall be
admitted…..

To sum up Section 1, it simply states that every applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree
in the field of education they chose to take an examination.

Next Section 2 which is about amendments to Sec 26 naman of RA 7836 which is the
Registration and Exception
So dito sinasabi na that Every person who wants to teach in the preschool, elementary, or
secondary levels
it is required for them to be registered as a professional teacher.
Also dapat meron silang valid certificate of registration and a valid professional license
or meron silang special/temporary permit mula mismo sa Department of Education

Sinasabi din dito na yung mga

Professional teachers na hindi nakapag-turo for the past five (5) years so they are required
to take at least twelve (12) units of education courses, consisting of at least six (6) units of
pedagogy and six (6) units of content courses before sila makapag-turo ulet.

And for those students naman who have failed the licensure examination, with a rating of
not lower than five percentage from the passing general average, pwede sila mag-apply for
a two-year special permit to work as para-teachers.

Lastly, the Board may also grant special permits to those people who have gained
international recognition and are widely acknowledged experts in their respective fields.

Next is Section 3 amendments naman about sa Sec 31 of RA 7836 which Is the Transitory
Provision that states special permits with a validity…
So dito sinasabi lang na yung mga issued special permits na mag-eexpired after 3 years or
valid for 3 years ay pwede nilang I-renew yun for 2 non-extendible years only.
Next Section 4 which states that the Department of Education, Culture and Sports…

Section 5 If, for any reason, any section or provision of this Act….
So dito sinasabi lang na hinding hindi or walang mababago sa any part ng RA 7836 kahit ano
pang declaration gawin nila about sa RA 7836

Section 6 naman is an amendment to Sec 33 of RA 7836 that states All laws, presidential
decrees….
It was changed to All laws, decrees, circulars….
Which they changed it into shorter and direct statement.

Which is also Same case with Section 7 an amendment to Sec 34 of RA 7836 that says This
act shall take effect…
Which changed that states this act shall take effect…

And lastly… it was approved by our Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last April 21
year 2004.
