    Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Greene County Department


    Of Water & Sewer Customers
    December 9, 2023—As of 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, the Boil Water Advisory has been
    lifted for all customers of Greene County Department of Water and Sewer. The advisory was issued
    on Thursday, December 7, 2023, after service interruption and loss of water pressure to some home
    near the Town of Stanardsville.

    After the repairs were made to the broken water main, a series of bacterial samples were collected
    and sent to a state-certified lab. All samples collected on December 7 and December 8, 2023, were
    absent of both total coliform and E. coli bacteria in the area where the Boil Water Advisory is
    currently being lifted.

    Residents can safely resume using their household water as normal.
