TOM CRUISE

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, better known

as Tom Cruise, is an American actor and
film producer winner of three Golden Globe
Awards, a Saturn Award and an honorary
Palme d'Or.
About him
The actor is the son of teacher Mary Lee and engineer Thomas Cruise Mapother
III. He has two older sisters named Lee Anne and Marian, and a younger sister
named Cass.
Due to his father's work, the Cruise family resided in different locations during
Tom's childhood, settling in Ottawa (Canada), Missouri or Louisville.
When his parents divorced in 1974, Tom and his sisters moved with his mother to
Taylosville Road, Kentucky.
In his childhood, Tom considered the possibility of
becoming a priest and even studied for a year at a
Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati on a scholarship.

After leaving this religious instruction, Cruise successfully

practiced various athletic activities, especially wrestling
but a knee injury caused the abandonment of this
activity and the definitive approach to the world of
acting.

He finally made his film debut under the direction of

Italian director Franco Zeffirelli in the movie "Endless
Love" (1981), a romantic drama based on a novel that
starred Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt.
His career
In the early 80's he achieved fame with:
"Risky Business" (1983), "Legend" (1985), "The Color Of Money"
(1986), and "Top Gun" (1986) playing Maverick Mitchell

In the following decades, his superstar status grew, expanding his

presence in the film industry by becoming a producer as well,
beginning with the Brian de Palma-directed film "Mission
Impossible"

Tom Cruise is currently 60 years old and the last thing we know
about his life is that he is involved in several projects with director
Christopher McQuarrie, including a musical and a new series of
action movies
Fun fact
The actor has a day named after him in Japan. In this country,
October 6 is 'Tom Cruise Day'. This is because he is the actor who
has visited Japan the most times.
