1. Present Simple with Be

2. Present Simple with Bare Infinitives

Note: When we talk about when or how often we do regular activities we can use Adverbs of
frequency (e.g. always, usually, never, often). We usually put these AFTER the verb be and
BEFORE other verbs.

Exercise 1. Complete the text using the correct forms of the verbs in the brackets.

Exercise 2. Circle the correct words in the text.
I get up always / always get up at seven o’clock. My husband work / works in a restaurant, so
he get up / gets up much later. I don’t eat / doesn’t eat breakfast; I just drink a cup of coffee. I
drive to the office, and I usually am / am usually at my desk by nine o’clock.

Exercise 3. Write about your daily routine, then practice reading your text aloud. In your
text, use the adverbs of frequency at least three times. You should talk about:
