1. What do you know about the University of Southern Mindanao?

The University of Southern Mindanao is one of the highly recommended schools here in the
Philippines, located in Kabacan, Cotabato, and Mindanao. Providing high-quality education and
promoting academic excellence that nurtures student capacity in different fields. It was proven
to me by the people I know in my life, and I have seen the challenges they have encountered to
achieve the successes they have prayed for and dreamed about. Furthermore, this school has a
rich history, beginning with how it was built, from the Mindanao Institute of Technology to the
University of Southern Mindanao, and who was behind the establishment's success. Most of
the people I know who graduated here studied agriculture, and this is truly a center of
excellence for agriculture, offering research, products, engineers, extensions, and so much
more.

2. What made you decide to study at USM?

I have this ministry in the church, where most of our youth leaders who are living their lives
successfully and happily are products of the University of Southern Mindanao. They are the
ones who encouraged me to study at USM. At first, I was hesitant because my first choice
course was not available at this school; however, after knowing that I was not qualified for the
scholarship I applied for, I decided to enroll at this university. Suddenly, this course I'd taken
popped into my head and brought me back to the times when I always imagined myself as a
doctor, despite the fact that my heart desired to be an architect. Then I decided to pursue a
doctorate in veterinary medicine after realizing how much I cared about animals and wanting to
do more than just save or cure their diseases or illnesses but also to be their hope, provider of
care, and home.

3. What are your expectations of USM?

In every school I attended, I always expected hardship, thrills, fun, joy, and many more. Other
than this, I hope that this school will help me to become a good and excellent student, not just
for compliance with the role but to be able to nurture my skills and capacity in every aspect to
develop, know my purpose, and also be a product of this university in the future. Even though
there are trials and challenges I need to encounter, I am still hoping that this school will push
me to keep walking until I am able to run and fly with wings, hoping and praying that the time
will come when I’ll be able to reach my dreams and God’s will for me.
