SYNERGISTIC PERFORMANCE TASKS

GOAL – To illustrate one’s community through making and designing a lantern or “parol.”

ROLE – graphic designer and an active communicator

AUDIENCE – Paulinian community: teachers and pupils

SITUATION –Christmas Season is fast approaching. This celebration reminds us of the greatest blessing from God: the birth of His
son Jesus Christ. Hence, the Grade School Unit decided to have a Parol Making to commemorate the coming of Jesus
Christ. The “parol” should contain the uniqueness of one’s family.

PRODUCT – Parol

Please be guided by the following procedure to be done at home:


1. Buy and prepare the following:
 uncovered parol frame
You can either make or buy it at the old public market the parol frame. The size would be: 43 cm Length; 9cm- Width
 foil of any preferred color
 charol colored plastic of any preferred color
 art materials
2. Cover the parol frame at home with the help of your parents. However, the design will be done in school.
3. Prepare a family picture.
4. Using a recycled folder, cut a geometrical shape and cover it with a foil or charol. Then, use it as the parol’s tails (4).
5. Add some designs.

The procedure below should be done at school.


 On a ¼ piece of short bond paper, write a thanksgiving prayer dedicated to God for guiding your community and family
during disasters and calamities. Then, paste your prayer (in front) and your family picture (at the back) in each center part
of the parol.
