5th Grade 5.2 Articulate clearly a message using figurative language, dialogue, idioms, adages,
proverbs, and imagery when appropriate to impact the audience.

Description: This app lesson will develop 5th Grade students’ Literary skills involving
Figurative Language

Instructional Objective: Students will learn how to identify figurative language,


understand what it does for a piece of literary work, and learn how to incorporate it into
their own writing.

Step 1 Students use figurative language to go about a “daily routine”, practices how the
language is meant to be used and what is looks like
