2 parts. There are 60 questions in this paper. Answer all.
4 For each question, four answers are given, but only one of the four is right. Work out
which is the best answer. Then, on your Answer Sheet, mark the box completely by
shading the answer space of the letter of your choice. If you had chosen answer D for a
question, you would show it like this:

Reading Comprehension

Kansaka National Park is situated about 39km fro Serenje. This park is situated on
the south-eastern fringe of the Lake Bangweulu basin. It is regarded as one of the best
places on the continent to observe the sky, swamp dwelling Sitatunga. Within the park a
special Sitatunga viewing site has been constructed high up in the branches of a tree.

The Sitatunga is a reddish brown, unusual antelope with special hooves, which give
it the ability to walk on marshy ground without sinking. It is a good swimmer too.
Kasanka is also known for its huge colony of migratory straw-coloured fruit bats
which can be seen most spectacularly in November and December. At dusk, an estimated
one million bats fly off in search of food. They are so many that, for about 20 minutes, the
sky is literally darkened by bats.

Bees live in colonies, usually in a hole in a tree or a box. When a wild honey bee
colony becomes overcrowded, the queen bee and some worker bees leave together to form
a new colony. The swarm of bees flies around, then collects in a group on a branch of a
tree. ‘Scout’ workers then set out to find a new hive. A hive is a place where bees live.
