Test Interpretation
TT3 measures the total amount of T3 in the blood. Low levels
TT3 (Total Triiodothyronine) may indicate hypothyroidism, while high levels may indicate
hyperthyroidism.
TT4 measures the total amount of T4 in the blood. Low levels
TT4 (Total Thyroxine) may indicate hypothyroidism, while high levels may indicate
hyperthyroidism.
TSH stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hor-
TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) mones. High levels may indicate hypothyroidism, while low
levels may indicate hyperthyroidism.

Interpretation:

Progesterone Level (ng/mL or nmol/L) Interpretation

Low progesterone levels during the follicular phase (before
Pre-Ovulation (Follicular Phase) ovulation) are normal. This helps prepare the body for ovula-
tion and the subsequent release of an egg.
A signi%cant increase in progesterone levels is observed dur-
Peak Ovulation (Mid-cycle) ing the mid-cycle, around the time of ovulation. This surge in
progesterone prepares the body for potential pregnancy.
After ovulation, progesterone levels continue to rise, reaching
Post-Ovulation (Luteal Phase) their peak during the luteal phase. This phase is essential for
preparing the uterine lining for embryo implantation.
In the case of pregnancy, progesterone levels remain ele-
vated throughout the %rst trimester. Progesterone is crucial
Pregnancy for maintaining the pregnancy and supporting fetal develop-
ment.
If pregnancy does not occur, progesterone levels decline,
Non-Pregnant leading to the shedding of the uterine lining during menstru-
ation.
Low progesterone levels during the luteal phase or pregnancy
Low Progesterone Levels may indicate a potential issue with ovulation or insuVcient
support for pregnancy.

IMMUNOASSAY
VITAMIN D - TOTAL (25-OH-VIT D)- SERUM
TEST DESCRIPTION RESULT FLAG REF. RANGE UNIT
2-10 : DeVciency
10-30 : InsuVciency -
;itamin D- Total (25-OH-;it D)- Serum 16 ng/ml
30-100 : SuVciency>
100 : Toxicity

Interpretation:
;itamin D is a fat soluble vitamin ≥ exists in two main forms as cholecalciferol (;itamin D3) which is synthesi"ed in skin from
7-dehydrocholesterol in response to sunlight exposure ≥ Ergocalciferol (;itamin D2) present mainly in dietary sources. Both
cholecalciferol ≥ Ergocalciferol are converted to 25 (OH) ;itamin D in liver.
Testing for 25 (OH) ;itamin D is recommended as it is the best indicator of ;itamin D nutritional status as obtained from
sunlight exposure ≥ dietary intake.
1) 25 OH ;itamin D is the best indicator of ;itamin D nutritional status, it is used as an aid in assessment of ;itamin D
suVciency in adults.
2) 25 OH ;itamin D de%ciency is seen in secondary hyperparathyroidism.
3) Decreased levels of 25 OH ;itamin D can lead to Osteomalacia, reduced bone mass ≥ thus increase the risk of bone
fractures.
4) Decreased 25 OH ;itamin D levels are also associated with low bone mineral density ≥ also seen in nutritional rickets.
5) Decreased levels of 25 OH ;itamin D are also associated with increased cardiovascular risk, low immunity ≥ chronic renal
failure.
6) Elevated levels are associated with ;itamin D intoxication.

VITAMIN B12
TEST DESCRIPTION RESULT FLAG REF. RANGE UNIT
;itamin B12 512 197 - 771 pg/ml

Interpretation:
1. ;it B12 levels are decreased in megaloblastic anemia, partial/total gastrectomy, pernicious anemia, peripheral
neuropathies, chronic alcoholism, senile dementia, and treated epilepsy.
2. An associated increase in homocysteine levels is an independent risk marker for cardiovascular disease and
deep vein thrombosis.
3. Holotranscobalamin II levels are a more accurate marker of active ;itB12 component.

Interpretation:
Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine are waste products that are %ltered out of the blood by the kidneys. Elevated levels
of BUN and creatinine in the blood can indicate decreased kidney function. The glomerular %ltration rate (GFR) is a measure
of how well your kidneys are %ltering waste products from your blood. A low GFR can indicate decreased kidney function. The
urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) is a measure of the amount of albumin (a type of protein) in your urine relative to the
amount of creatinine. Elevated levels of ACR can indicate damage to the kidneys.

Desirable levels of cholesterol and triglycerides are associated with a lower risk of heart disease, while high levels increase
the risk. HDL cholesterol is often called ~good~ cholesterol, as it helps to remove excess cholesterol from the blood vessels.
In contrast, LDL cholesterol is often called ~bad~ cholesterol, as it contributes to the buildup of plaque in the arteries.

Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) 240-450 mcg/dL can be carried in the blood.
Measures the percentage of transferrin
Transferrin Saturation 20-50W that is carrying iron.
Interpretation:

If serum iron levels are high and transferrin saturation is high, it may indicate hemochromatosis or iron overload.
If serum iron levels are low and transferrin saturation is low, it may indicate iron de%ciency anemia.
If TIBC is high and transferrin saturation is low, it may indicate iron de%ciency anemia.
If TIBC is low and transferrin saturation is high, it may indicate hemochromatosis or iron overload.
In cases where serum iron levels are low but transferrin saturation is high, it may indicate a chronic inzammatory
