Nun’s Priestess Tale and the
Pardoner’s tale is two different
tales that is a part of the whole
compilation or a variety of tales.
LITERARY PERIOD GIST OF THE LITERARY
PIECE
Old English Period The story revolves
Anglo Saxon Period primarily around
Beowulf's journey as a
hero through Hrothgar's
universe, wherein he
was ordered to execute
the treacherous monster,
Grendel and his mother.
However, due to
Beowulf’s death after
conquering his last
competitor, a fierce
dragon he crowned a
new king for the land
minutes before his
passing.
Middle English Period The Nuns Priests Tale
Medieval Period revolves around the
captivating story of a
rooster named
Chantecleer, a carefully
depicted rooster, with
seven wives and
Pertelote, whom
Chantecleer adores most
or his favorite per se.
Chantecleer experiences
a nightmare where he
witnesses his demise at
the hands of an
unknown assailant. To
his dismay this
nightmare becomes a

Pardoner’s Tale narrates
what occurred to the

enthusiastically take
with them and on the
latter part none of them
survived due to their
greedy deeds in
selfishly keep the gold
for themselves.

Medieval Period attended spent
Christmas Eve with
King Arthur and his
knights. Not until the
Green Knight appeared
challenging anyone
putting their courage
and nobility to the test.
Just about King Arthur
voluntarily accept the
challenge, Sir Gawain
then took his place in a
decapitation challenge.
After beheading the
Green Knight, the
knight then told Sir
Gawain that in a year
and a days-time, he will
take his turn and
decapitate his head too.
The Green Knight then
shows up in front of Sir
Gawain, but rather than
doing the favor of
decapitating him. Sir
