SPECIAL FORMS (PASIVA IMPERSONAL)
Some verbs (say, think, expect, believe, know) can be used in two different ways in the passive:

1. It + passive reporting verb + that-clause

2. Subject + passive reporting verb + to-infinitive

ACTIVE : People say that he lives abroad now.

PASSIVE : 1. It is said that he lives abroad now.


2. He is said to live abroad now. = “se dice que...”

THE CAUSATIVE
FORM: have / get + object + 3rd column or ed

USE: An action that is done for us by somebody else (se usa para hablar de algo que otra persona
hace para nosotros). We can use ‘have’ or ‘get’, but ‘get’ is more formal.

EXAMPLE: I had my hair cut for the wedding (= me cortaron el pelo para la boda)

TENSE
Present simple I have my car repaired every year.
Past simple I had my car repaired last week.
Present continuous I’m having my car repaired now.
Past continuous I was having my car repaired when you
called.
Present perfect I have had my car repaired twice since June.
Past perfect I had had my car repaired many times by the
time I bought the new one.
Future simple I will have my car repaired soon.
Future continuous I will be having my car repaired this time
tomorrow.
Future perfect I will have had my car repaired by Tuesday.
Modal I must have my car repaired.
