This book is about Joey.

Joey was still a little horse when he got seperated from his mom at an
auction. Joey gets pulled into the ring where his mother just got sold. Nobody wants to buy Joey until
he hears a hammer.. Joey is sold. He hears his mother scream and he wants to escape to go to her but
he can’t. Some guy puts a rope around his neck and he gets big wounds in his neck. Joey gets put in
the horse stable and when his owner (a boy named Albert) comes in they immediately like each
other. Albert’s dad has made a bet with the neighbor that Joey could plow in a week, and he could
after a week the fiets were plowed. Joey and Albert become really good friends. One day Albert’s dad
sold Joey to a guy from the army captain Nichols and Albert is really sad about it. This is where Joey’s
journey really begins.
