Whomsoever it may concern,

It has been 7 years since I have known Dr. Magdy Bakry as a close friend and a fine colleague
in Civil Engineering profession. I was first introduced to Bakry, while I am joining
Sherbrooke University, when we have many thoroughly and deep discussions about civil
engineering topics related to industry and research via skype. Also, I have read with a great
interest all his technical publications posted in RESEARCHGATE related to research and
professional work. I am writing this reference letter with regard to his application for Job
927586: Position: Construction Engineering Professor – Structures, École de technologie
supérieure, Canada.

Dr. Bakry is one of the most disciplined and punctual people I’ve ever known. His ability to
think and organize work efficiently and smoothly in a really highly organized and global
vision, is quite evident and impressed. For the whole time that Dr. Bakry and I have
discussed together, he has demonstrated an incredible leadership quality, always showed an
exceptionally respectable and matured person, his manner of expressing ideas is quite clear
and straightforward.
In general, Dr. Bakry is a compassionate and hardworking human being with perseverance
and ambition. In my opinion, he is a deserving candidate for Engineering Professor –
Structures position and would be a great value addition to your organization. I strongly
