Suzanne McCormick, CEO

Suzanne McCormick is President and CEO of YMCA of the USA. In 2021, McCormick became
the 15th person and first woman to lead YMCA USA, one of the largest charities in the nation.
She came to the YMCA after working for United Way Worldwide for three years where she
served as U.S. President in charge of the 1,100 United Ways across the country that helped build
inclusive and sustainable communities. She also was a member of the UWW global management
team and executive sponsor of United Way’s Women United Global Leadership Council. The
council is an organization of strong female leaders who are dedicated to bettering their
communities.

McCormick spent five years as President and CEO of United Way Suncoast in Tampa, Florida.
This organization helps communities’ lower poverty and boost fundraising efforts for a more
positive impact and better community outreach. Her nonprofit career also includes 13 years at
United Way of Greater Portland Maine where of those 13 she spent four as President and CEO.
In addition, McCormick served as CEO for both the American Red Cross Southern Maine and
Peoples' Regional Opportunity Program.

Suzanne was recognized for her outstanding non-profit work; she was a Forbes 50 over 50 list in
the 2023 Impact category. In addition, in 2021, 2022, and 2023 The NonProfit Times recognized
Suzanne in their Power & Influence Top 50. She serves on the board of directors for the
Independent Sector and the National Fitness Foundation.

She holds a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Duke University. After
graduation, she spent three years in the Peace Corps teaching English in Thailand.
