LU58 FA Project Napiorkowski S22docx
Students should use the knowledge that they have gained thought the course to analyze a selected
company and make a recommendation on investing (yes/no, short- or long-term) in the analyzed
company.
Students should keep in mind that to properly present the selected company and therefore make the
needed recommendation, the selected company needs to be compared to a reference point (another
company in the same industry or the industry average). Students should confirm the selected pair of
companies or the source of industry information with the lecturer prior to working on a project.
Submission
Students need to submit the printed version of the report and of the presentation 1 at the start of
the class on the due date. Students should also (on the due date) send digital copies to lecturer’s e-mail
address (napiorkowski.tomasz@gmail.com). Incomplete projects will not be accepted. Penalty for a late
submission is 5 (out of a 100) points being deducted from the project’s grade.
The file needs to be named as follows: Student number_FA_Project_S22, e.g. if your student ID is
12345, you would name your file: 12345_FA_Project_S22. If the file is not named as directed, it will be
deleted and the submission will not be counted.
Marking
To receive a full mark the student should follow the submission directions. The project is graded
as a whole (i.e. paper plus presentation). The project is graded on the logic of the path (based on financial
ratios and other information) that led the student to the investment recommendation.
Re-sit
A student who fails the coursework for the “Financial accounting” class will have to re-sit the
element of the coursework, for which the student received a lower grade. If this is the project, the
student should follow the above direction for the re-sit. The due date for the re-sit project is the day of
the re-sit exam.
