Thus, the world must develop ways to meet these needs so that our future generations can
inherit a healthier and greener planet. United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals has
long been the holy grail of policy makers. Recent signs, however, do not portray a healthy
picture. The 2013 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its pledge to ‘live no one behind’
is a global commitment to improve the lives of the most vulnerable of us. According to the
Centre for Science and Environment's State of India's Environment Report, 2022, India has
dropped three points from 117 in 2021 to 120 this year in terms of meeting the 17 Sustainable
Development Goals. Failure to act now means that the Sustainable Development goals
(SDGs) will not be made undermining the credibility of the international community and
living millions to die unnecessarily. Keeping it in mind, this course has been designed and
developed with an objective to address and try to resolve the issues related to social,
economic, environment and health specifically in the fragile and under- developed region of
