About ASNT India

ASNT India Private Limited, known as ASNT India, is a for-profit subsidiary of the American Society for
Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) that will conduct business operations in India and serve interests in Asia and the
Middle East. Located in Chennai in Tamil Nadu, ASNT India will enable ASNT to expand and improve our
certification portfolio and increase our global nondestructive testing (NDT) research and scholarship activities.

ASNT India provides ASNT-approved training courses, certification exams (computer-based and practical lab
exams), membership, and publications.

ASNT Certification
ASNT Certification is the most recognized credential for NDT and has been the standard for the NDT industry for
more than 80 years. An ASNT certification provides industry recognition, career advancement opportunities, and
confidence in your inspection abilities.

Certification, recertification, and accreditation are managed by ASNT Certification Services LLC.

ASNT India Will Offer

Ø ASNT 9712 Level II and III exams in the following methods: magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant
testing (PT), ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT) film interpretation, and visual testing (VT).

Ø ASNT NDT Level II and III exams in the following methods: MT, PT, UT, RT, and VT.

Ø NDT training and certification preparation classes for ASNT 9712 and ASNT NDT Level II and III exams.

The ASNT 9712 program certifies NDT personnel through examination to the highest standard. This program
follows the process of certification by an independent, nationally recognized body—ASNT. ASNT 9712 is designed
to meet the requirements of ISO 9712 standard. The program provides a global standard for certification,
increasing the credibility of the NDT industry. It benefits employers by allowing them to hire NDT personnel
without administering exams, saving time and money.

ASNT India provides the training and examinations for ASNT 9712 Level II and Level III at its Chennai facility. Exam
candidates can also choose to sit for training in one of ASNT India's Authorized Training Centres (ATC) in locations
throughout India.

Level II Examinations Include:

Ø General Written Examination: covers
fundamentals, principles, and theory of the method.
Ø Specific Written Examination: covers specific
applications of the test method in accordance with
codes and standards used in the applicable industry
sectors.
Ø Pr a c t i c a l E x a m i n a t i o n : a p p l i c a n t s m u s t
demonstrate the ability to perform the test method
and technique on specimens containing known
defects.
Ø Instruction Preparation: applicants must prepare
written instructions for the test method.

Level III Examinations Include:

Ø Basic Examination: covers certification processes,
materials and processes, and general knowledge of
other NDT test methods.
Ø B a s i c S u p p l e m e n t a l E x a m i n at i o n : c o v e r s
additional knowledge of examination requirements
according to ISO 9712:2021: Nondestructive
testing — Qualification and certification of NDT
personnel. NDT Methods: RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT.
Ø Method Examination: covers specific knowledge of
the test method.
Ø Pr a c t i c a l E x a m i n a t i o n : a p p l i c a n t s m u s t
demonstrate their ability to perform the method on
test samples containing known defects.
Ø Procedure Preparation Examination: applicants are
required to write an NDT procedure based on a
supplied NDT standard.

ASNT NDT Level III Examination

The ASNT NDT Level III program provides third-party certification for NDT personnel whose specific jobs require
knowledge of the technical principles underlying the NDT tests they perform, witness, monitor, or evaluate. The
program provides a system for ASNT NDT Level III certification in NDT in accordance with Recommended Practice
No. SNT-TC-1A. The ASNT NDT Level III program is the core certification program for ASNT Certification Services
LLC. ASNT NDT Level III certifications are recognized worldwide.

ASNT NDT Level III Certification Prep Courses

ASNT India will provide certification prep courses for ASNT NDT Level III certification exams. These courses can
help you prepare for an NDT exam, advance your career, increase your NDT knowledge, and much more. The
subject matter for Level III certification prep courses is derived from the training topics found in CP-105,
Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A, and CP-189.

ASNT certification prep courses are considered Level III courses. They are designed for those who are currently
Level II or III and are looking to become an ASNT Level III or maintain their Level III status. The courses are structured
around the same body of knowledge as the ASNT NDT Level III examinations.
