Syllabus for Foundation Programme
2023-2024
• The Syllabus (2023) for Foundation Programme shall comprise of
seven papers.
PAPER 1: BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ETHICS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
PAPER 2: LEADERSHIP AND MOTIVATION
PAPER 3: BUSINESS ENGLISH
PAPER 4: INTORDUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)
PAPER 5: IELTS PREPARATION COURSE
PAPER 6: HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT
PAPER 7: RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSE
• Duration: 6 months
• The Syllabus (2023) for the Foundation Programme shall be
applicable for the students who register in Foundation
Programme before November 1, 2023.

PAPER 1: BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ETHICS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Level of Knowledge: Basic Knowledge


Objective: To acquaint with the basic principles of management, ethics,
communication techniques and entrepreneurship

PART A: BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (40 Marks)


Nature of Management and its Process
Meaning, Objectives, Importance; Nature of Management- Science, Art,
Profession; Evolution of Management;
Management Functions- Planning, Organising, Personnel Management,
Directing and Control; Principles of Management- Fayol and Taylor Principles;

PAPER 2: LEADERSHIP AND MOTIVATION

Level of Knowledge: Basic Knowledge


Objective: This course is going to require students to utilize skills that
are necessary for effective leadership including self-awareness,
interpersonal skills, presentation skills, organization and time
management, and critical thinking.

This course is focused on the study of fundamental concepts, theories,


and models of leadership and motivation. Selected topics include: trait
and behavioral theories of leadership, charismatic and transformational
leadership, power and influence, emotions and justice perceptions in
motivation, expectancy and equity theories.
In exploring leader effectiveness, several different perspectives will be
utilized, including follower, leader, and observer. Motivation will be
explored in a number of contexts, specifically personal motivation and
motivation of others.

PAPER 3: BUSINESS ENGLISH

Objective: English is currently the language of international business,


therefore, business people must be able to communicate effectively in
English in order to achieve professional success. This course aims to provide
participants with essential English language skills

In this highly interactive course, participants will acquire an understanding of


crucial business vocabulary and related grammar structures through group
work, practical exercises and simulated discussions. The aim of this course is
to cultivate participants’ general comprehension of Business English and to
provide them with practical language strategies, which they can use to
communicate effectively in a variety of important business contexts.
PAPER 4: INTORDUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)

Level of Knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Objective: This course is aimed at presenting foundation concepts of


programming and software code organization. The special track is organized
as a series of lectures, hands-on workshops and exercises using
C programming languages and focusing on discussing structural
programming concepts.

Information Technology, commonly referred to as IT, refers to the use of technology


to organize, store, share, and process information. The IT industry is growing
quickly as companies become more technology-based and the need to manage
information becomes increasingly vital. Introduction to IT is geared towards
complete beginners looking to take their first steps into the world of Information
Technology.
PAPER 5: IELTS PREPARATION COURSE
The IELTS course is for students from Intermediate to Advanced levels. It
focuses on academic skills, with the goal of preparing students to successfully
pass the IELTS test. During the course, you will be engaged with different,
exciting topics and practice speaking, listening, grammar, reading and writing.

PAPER 6: HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

Objective: ​Learners will develop and enhance their skills in the following
areas: customer relationship management, events management, digital
marketing management , human resources management, operations
management, as well as becoming aware of current trends and issues in
the tourism and hospitality industry.

Tourism brings together people from different backgrounds, cultures,


and traditions. Tourists share their experiences and memories about
places they visited and people they met, which helps promote peace and
tolerance.

Students will visit all tourist places in Almaty and Almaty


region
A benefit to studying abroad is the opportunity to discover yourself
while gaining an understanding of a different culture. Being in a new
place by yourself can be overwhelming at times, and it tests your
ability to adapt to diverse situations while being able to problem
solve.

PAPER 7: RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSE

Level of Knowledge: Basic Knowledge


Objective: Offers an introduction to basic Russian.

We have created a course for beginners to help them learn the basics of
the language and start communicating from the first lessons.
