Data Import & Export (Tally to Marg/ Marg to Tally)

Marg Software have a unique feature to convert the Tally software data in Marg Software.
Marg software data will also be converted into the Tally.

The main objective of this option is that if your CA is using the Tally Software and he wants
the data of your firm in Tally software but you are using the Marg Software to maintain your
Accounts & Inventory. So through this option you can generate the XML files and by using
this XML files CA/ End user can easily import the Marg Software data in Tally Software.

To active this featue first we need to go to control room and search the otion “EXPORT”

After that the below mentioned screen will be appear and it will show all the option which is
related to Export & Import of Data.
In this option we have to activate and dectivate the feature as per the our requirements.

Option to data Import /Export/Both /Not required

Import : If we need only import data option so we need to select only “Import” option.
Export : If we want to only Export data option so we need to select only “Export” option.
Both : If we want both the process Import & Export of data so we need to select “Both” option.
Not required : If we don’t want to Import & Export of data so we need to select “Not required”
option.

In the below mentioned expamle we want to Import & Export of data so we have select the Both
option so that we can easily Import & Export the data from Tally to Marg or Marg to Tally.
After activating this feature we need to check that whether that user have a power to Import &
Export of data. So to assign the power to specific user we will check the user rights through
Change operator power process.

In the search option we will search the option Export or Import .

After that the following window will be appear here we found the option i.e; Data
Import/Export/Y-Both/No

N : If we select N it means this user have no power for Import & Export of data.
Y : If we select Y it means this user have a full power for Import & Export of data.
I : If we select I it means this user have only power for Import of data.
E : If we select E it means this user have only power for Export of data.
After that if we want to Import data in Tally Software from Marg Software or If you want to Import
data in Marg Software from Tally Software.
Then you need to go to following option :-

Reports >> Management Report >> Utilities >> Data Import/Export >> Tally ERP9

Once we click on this option then a Tally Import/Export window will be appear and following option
will be shown

1. Import from Tally Data : If we want to import the tally data in Marg then we will select this

option.

2. Export Marg to Tally : If we want to Export marg data into tally then we will select this option.

3. Master File : Browse the Master.XML . (This file will be generated by tally software if we want to

import the data from Tally software whereas if we select the Export Marg to Tally in that case

Marg will generate this file)

4. Daybook File: Browse the Daybook.XML (This file will be generated by tally software if we want

to import the data from Tally software whereas if we select the Export Marg to Tally in that case

Marg will generate this file)

5. Master/Daybook : Select Master if want to Import and Export only Master But if we also wants

to Import and Export Daybook also in that case we need to select the Daybook also.

6. Type of Voucher : Voucher types means that if in tally software does’nt contain Sale or

Purchase and other voucher type then select this option but if already available then do not

select this option.

7. Voucher From : It will asking for date range so we can select the date range for that period

data Import and Export will be proceed.

After that click on Proceed button then automatically data Import from selected path and Export
in Marg directory will be proceed in software.

Once the entire process will be done then you need to run the File Maintenance so that it will
refresh the entire heads and post the update the balances.
