INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION TO THE


5-YEAR B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) PROGRAMME & LL.M. PROGRAMME
2020 – 2021

Welcome to NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

Candidates who have been allotted NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad by the
Consortium of NLUs on the basis of CLAT-2020 merit are required to complete the
following formalities:
1. Candidates should login to their CLAT account and choose the option of their
choice, i.e., ‘Accept’ / ‘Upgrade’ / ‘Exit’.
2. Candidates who opt for ‘Accept’ / ‘Upgrade’ should remit the fee as given be-
low to NALSAR University of Law through online transfer to the bank account
as per the details given below.
3. Candidates should fill the online form and upload the documents through their
login id in their CLAT account
4. Based on the information provided and on verification of the documents sub-
mitted, NALSAR will ‘Accept’ the candidate or may ‘Not Accept’
5. All the above processes should be completed within the scheduled time line
provided in the Admission Counselling Guidelines on the Consortium website.
No extension of time will be given to the candidates by NALSAR beyond the
dates indicated by the Consortium.
6. Candidates who fail to pay the fee to NALSAR and submit the docu-
ments within the timeline as given in the Schedule will not be consid-
ered for admission at NALSAR and they will also not be considered for
allotment in subsequent lists issued by the CLAT Consortium.
7. In case of candidates who opt for ‘Upgrade’, the total fee paid by them at
NALSAR will be transferred to the NLU where they finally get admitted. Fur-
ther, the total fee paid by the candidates, who withdraw their admission before
November 30, 2020 will be refunded.
8. After completion of the above formalities and receiving acceptance from NAL-
SAR, the candidates are required to download the ‘Admission Form’, ‘Hostel
Application Form’ and ‘Undertaking’ and submit the duly filled and signed
forms by email to admissions2020@nalsar.ac.in on or before October 18,
2020.
9. Candidates should submit the scanned copy of their documents and the provi-
sional admission will be offered based on the documents submitted. In case
any discrepancy is found on a later date and / or on physical verification of
original documents, the provisional admission offered will stand automatically
cancelled and the total fee paid by them will be forfeited. The University may
even file a criminal complaint against the candidates in case of submission of
fake documents.
10. The classes will be held online till December 31, 2020 and the same will
be reviewed in the month of January, 2021. The online classes will com-
mence w.e.f. October 19, 2020. The Class Schedule and other information
for the First Semester will be communicated in due course.

The eligibility is as per CLAT – 2020 Notification which is given below:

1. LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty percent


(50%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to
General/OBC/PWD categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) of marks or its
equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
2. No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT 2020.

To be eligible for admission under the Resident Student of Telangana category


seats, in addition to complying with the eligibility as per CLAT-2020, candidates
must fulfill the following conditions and must secure appropriate rank in order of merit
in CLAT-2020:
For admission to LL.M. Course - a person who after studying in the
State of Telangana for four consecutive years appears for the
qualifying examination in the same State (or)
A person who has in the previous seven years resided in the State of
Telangana for at least a period of four years, and completed the
qualifying examination, that is LL.B. from the educational institutions in
the State of Telangana.

05% (03) seats Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for Persons with
Benchmark Disabilities (PWD).

Note : Three additional candidates may be admitted over and above the
sanctioned intake, out of which one seat shall be offered to Resident Students
of Telangana General Category and two seats shall be offered to All India
General Category candidates.

If a Resident Student of Telangana qualifies for admission in the regular All India
merit, he / she shall be considered against the All India Seat only and not against
Telangana Quota Seat. If no candidate is available against the Seats reserved for

Resident Students of Telangana, such Seats shall be added to the relevant
Categories under All India Quota.

The unfilled Seats reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates are assigned to
Scheduled Tribe candidates and vice-versa. If sufficient eligible SC and ST
candidates are not available to fill such Seats, they are reallocated to General
Category candidates in order of CLAT merit.

The vacant seats of Resident Student of Telangana - OBC shall be converted to


Resident Students of Telangana General Category and later to All India General
Category.

SPECIALISATIONS LIKELY TO BE OFFERED


The following specialisations are likely to be offered for the LL.M. Programme during
the academic year 2020 – 2021, depending on the availability of the teaching
expertise and the minimum number of students opting for it:
 LL.M. (Commercial and Corporate Law)
 LL.M. (International Trade and Business Laws)
 LL.M. (Public Law and Legal Theory)
 LL.M. (Criminal Law)
 LL.M. (General)

Eligibility for Admission – B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)

The eligibility is as per CLAT – 2020 Notification which is given below:

1. There will be no upper age limit for UG Programme in CLAT 2020.


2. As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e.,
10+2 or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured:
i. Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of can-
didates belonging to General / OBC / PWD categories
ii. Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belong-
ing to SC/ST categories.

To be eligible for admission under the Resident Student of Telangana category


seats, in addition to complying with the eligibility as per CLAT-2020, candidates
must fulfill the following conditions and must secure appropriate rank in order of merit
in CLAT-2020:
(i) For admission to 5-Year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Course–a person who
after studying in the State of Telangana for four consecutive years ap-
pears for the qualifying examination in the same State (or)
A person who has in the previous seven years resided in the State of
Telangana for at least a period of four years, and completed the
qualifying examination, i.e., 10+2 or equivalent from the educational
institutions in the State of Telangana.

1. 30% (36 seats) Horizontal reservation shall be applicable for Female


candidates for admission to B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) course.
2. 05% {06 seats for B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) Horizontal reservation shall be applicable
for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWD).
