60x30Tx Brochure Genre Analysis

In TAMIU campus it is well known by students that the building Zaffirini Success Center is a

place that you can attempt if you have a problem, for example with your financial aid. Thus,

in the ZSC building at the financial aid office the organization 60x30Tx, a company that

offers financial aid services to students, left their brochures in order to advertise to students

about their services. Those brochures are free to take in a transparent acrylic brochure holder

at the left side as soon as you walk in. This brochure has many typical features that make it

attractive for students that are passing by, big and bold titles, short and easy to read

information and access to tools that can be useful for students, for example.

First of all, 60x30Tx uses the typical features that can’t be missed in a brochure. For

example, they use large and bold subtitles that will catch the attention of their main

audience, students who need help with financial aid for their studies. 60x30Tx, smartly, uses

the question ““Do You want to continue your education?” as a subtitle with big and bold

words followed by an answer “ Yes, You Can” not just in bold words, but red, at the very top

of the brochure. This quote is very specific and aggressive so that it catches your attention

because in your mind you will think "oh, I do want to continue my education" and you grab

the brochure. Further, the use of bold letters and different colors is not by accident either, the

use of this format means that when looking at the brochure that highlighted text is the first

thing that your mind detects since by being in bold you will persevere it as something

important, It happens with the change of colors too.

Furthermore, the author understands that people look for quick and direct information, so,

like any brochure should be, the 60x30tx brochure has a small paragraph of information

formed by phrases on everything people need to know as a student about what they can get

as a client of this organization. located in the middle of the brochure, taking up most of the

space to make it easy for readers to read. 60x30Tx adds phrases like "We can help you earn

a degree or a certificate." and "We can help you gain the skills you need, find a better job,

and shape the future." written naturally in Arial 12. This text is the information that the

60x30Tx organization wants you to read so that you know about the service they offer, the

text has nothing changed or modified, this is to make it easier for you to read it and obtain

quick and summarized information. It is followed by the subtitle so that it is the first thing you

see after being caught by the title in bold.

Finally, since the author wants to maintain the brochure short and concise, after giving to the

reader all the information summarized, 60x30Tx adds a way that readers can take in case

they want more information or even get the service as a link that will guide them to the

principal website of 60x30tx. Strategically placed at the end without removing space for

important information for the reader, the following sentence is written “Visit 60X30TX.com for

more information and results!” with bold letters in Arial 12. This last quote is not mandatory

but if you are interested in the service at this point you can obtain much more information or

even contact them to be assisted. The phrase is small without taking away the prominence

of the other elements, but it is also in bold so that any reader can notice them as something

important.

In conclusion, The 60x30Tx organization placed its information brochure to promote its

service in the financial aid office at Tamiu campus since that is where they are likely to find

their target audience. The use of bold and big words are widely used in this brochure

combined with striking phrases that make the reader feel identified with the service or see

the solution to their problem written on the paper combinated with the short text, drawing the

reader's attention. Knowing about this format is important to be able to detect the important

points while we are reading this type of information, how to get the most out of these

formats, also for future projects since despite being an old format it is still widely used by

corporations and it is efficient compared to other methods.
