Poetry is a literary form which make an emotional impact on readers. The art of
poetry covers various elements including English rhythm and rhyming, the study of
various poetic genres and how lines rhyme.
So, first of all, English rhythm and rhyming. Words rhyme when they end with the
same vowel sounds or the same sequence of vowels and consonants. In the English
tradition, the beginning of the words must be different. So, one of the important
features of poetry is its musicality. English poetry has a rich tradition of using a
variety of rhythmic patterns. Iambic is often used in English poetry, creating a natural
and flowing cadence.
It can also be said about several well-known poetic genres. Poetry has a variety of
genres and all have unique characteristics and thematic elements. Poems, sonnets,
ballads, and lyrics are known to everyone.
It is interesting to study how lines rhyme. Rhyming, an integral aspect of poetry, adds
musicality and logic to poems. Poets use different rhyme schemes, such as AABB,
ABAB, or ABBA.
Oscar Wilde is a famous poet for me. He is an outstanding English-speaking poet.
And his work "Portrait of Dorian Gray" is famous. This work is unique to this author.
