per IS 4722-2001 with voltage regulation +/- 5 %. Both the engine and alternator direct coupled

on a common fabricated steel base frame and mounted on anti-vibrating pads with standard

control panel comprising meters, switchgears, indicators connected with suitable wires/cables,

the complete set enclosed in composite Acoustic enclosure as fully assembled integral unit made

of 16 SWG CRCA Sheet, sound absorbing material to restrict sound level upto 75 dB at 1.0 m,

provided with first filling of oil, diesel etc

1.1 Scope

These specifications cover the general specifications pertaining to diesel engine driven
generating sets & their installation.

1.2 General

This section deals with unloading procedures, location, standard capacities and climatic
conditions for DG Set installation.

1.3 DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF SUPPLY

Supply, installation and commissioning of 62.5 KVA/200 KVA/ 250 KVADG sets.

The DG set conforming to CPCB Norms, CPWD norms, IE Act 2003 etc and latest IE rules

The work involves supply installations, testing and commissioning of 62.5 KVA/200 KVA/250
KVA DG sets complete in all respects as per specification providedby the CPWD for DG Set
works and meeting CPCB norm and Govt. & Guidelines.

The work also involves designing of foundation (construction foundation in civil work) including
fixing of fuel piping, exhaust gas system up to 3rmt.

Arrangement of all manpower including material and facilities required for installation and
commissioning of DG set shall have to be arranged by the contractor/supplier including
unloading of DG set and placement at site.

The DG set when fully installed and commissioned shall be completely functional and delivers
rated output as per BS: 5514.

The DG set shall be capable of continuous working up to an ambient of 40 degree C, 65%

humidity and an average height of 125 meter above mean sea level.

1.4 The DG set shall include –

- Diesel Engine

- Alternator

- Acoustic Unit

- AMF panel

- Prime power rating (PRP) conforming to ISO 8528 specifications.

1.5 DIESEL ENGINE

62.5 KVA / 200 KVA/250 KVA Of MPPWD Approved make Diesel engine developing suitable
BHP at 1500 RPM conforming to BS: 5514/ISO: 3046. The engine is Turbocharged - after
cooled, four stroke, Malty cylinder; the 10% overload is available for one hour in every twelve
hours operation.
The engine shall be confirmed to IS 10000 /ISO3046 /BS5514 amended up to date.Necessary
certificate indicating the compliance of above capacity requirement for the engine model so
selected along with compliance of noise and emission norms as per latest CPCB guideline for
DG set capacity of 62.5 KVA / 200 KVA /250 KVA SHOULD BE FURNISHED from
manufacturers along with technical data for approval for client / consultant
The Scope of supply includes:
- Exhaust Gas turbo charger with after cooler
- Residential type Exhaust Silencer
- Air Cleaner with Dry, replaceable elements
- Fuel Pump with Electronic Governor.
- Lube oil cooler & Replaceable Spin- on type Oil filters
- Centrifugal filter for extended lube change intervals
- Closed circuit engine cooling with water pump, pusher fan & radiator
- Safety shut down system for Low Lube oil pressure, Over Speed & High coolant
temperature.
- 24 VDC Electric starting system
- 1 nos. 12V, 25 plate, 180 AH battery
- Fuel tank for 8 hrs continuous operation
- Plate type lube oil cooler
- Full flow paper element filter for fuel, lube oil & by pass.
- Dry type replaceable paper element air cleaner with restriction indicator.
- Flywheel housing complete with safety guard& flywheel to suit double bearing
alternator.
- Flexible coupling for engine and alternator.
- Electronic starting motor, battery charging alternator.
- Lube oil priming pump and water pump

1.6 ALTERNATOR

The alternator of 62.5 KVA / 200 KVA/250 KVA at 1500 RPM at 40 Deg. C Ambient Temp
Generating 415 V at 0.8 P.F.(lag) 50 Hz, 3 phase, 4 wire system. Confirming to BS 5000 / IS
4722.
The alternator shall be Brushless type, screen protected, and revolving field, separately excited
with PMG, self regulated. The Alternator has the following features:
- + - 0.5% voltage regulation (max) in static conditions
- IP: 23 Enclosures
- Double Bearing
- Class H Insulation.
- Digital AVR is inbuilt in PCC
- Cable connection adapter box for 400/300sqmm cable

1.7 CONTROL PANEL

Powder coated control panel manufactured with 14 / 16 gauge CRCA sheet provides:
- MCCB of 250 Amp 50 KA overload and short circuit protection.
- Electronics Multifunction Meter with CT, Control MCB.
- Electronics KWH meter (display by 6 digit stepper motor counter)
- ON/OFF/Trip /RYB, DG ON, Load ON indicating lamps
- Current Transformers
- Control MCB duly wired and ferruled
- Aluminum Bus bars of rated capacity
- Cubical with louvers, hinged doors & un-drilled M.S. gland plate.
- Complete with supply of copper cable / Bus bar connections from alternator to
Incoming of the MCCB.
- Suitable termination arrangement at top of set with suitable Adapter box with bus
bars with adequate clearances between phases / Neutral for connection of outgoing

1.8 POWER COMAND GENSET CONTROL - PCC2100 OR SUITABLE BY OTHER

ENGINE MFRS.

The power command 2100 control is a micro processor based generator set monitoring metering,
protection and control system. It offers advance level of function for reliability and optimum gen
set performance. An extensive array of integrated standard control and digital display features
eliminate the need for discrete component devices such as the voltage regulator, governor control
and protective relays. The control system has easy servicing capabilities that allow system
parameters to be interrogated, mounted and adjusted with a PC

1.9 MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT

Engine and alternator are mounted on a common MS fabricated base frame (with the AVM pad
as per requirement)
1.10 FUEL TANK

Inbuilt Fuel tank with the capacity of 8 Hours complete with level indicator, fuel inlet and outlet,
air vent, drain plug, inlet arrangement for direct filling and man hole.
1.11 BATTERY

Set of 2 No s 12 Volt 180 AH Uncharged Batteries with leads and terminals. Pre commissioning
Charging included in erection scope.

1.13 ACOUSTIC ENCLOSURE

The acoustic enclosure is made of 1.6 mm thick CRCA sheets and structural / sheet metal base
frame painted in Mensal green shed. The wall of the enclosure is insulated with fire retardant
rock wool. Acoustic enclosure should be suitable maximum noise level of 75 db when measured
at a distance of 1 meter is acceptable (as per latest CPCB norms). The contractor should provide
acoustic enclosures to achieve the desired noise level and give detailed technical particulars of
the acoustic enclosure including the material being used etc.

The enclosure has the following Features:

Designed to have optimum power out of gen set without any de-rating factor designed to have
sufficient approach, operation and service space. Air inlet louvers specially designed to provide
sufficient fresh air availability for operation of the D.G. Set. Made on special purpose CNC

machine for consistency in quality and workmanship. Powder coated for long listing service life

1.14 Makes of Equipment

Any equipment not specifically mentioned in the specification but essential for completeness of
the equipment, shall be supplied. The DG set shall be equipped with MPPWD Approved
make Diesel Engineand all the Parts (Diesel Engine, Alternator and AMF Panel) should of
same manufacturer or if they are of different makes then should be covered under
manufacturers’ warranty.

1.15 AMF PANEL BOQ

Supplying, erecting, testing and commissioning of Microprocessor based AMF panel suitable for
diesel generating set of 62.5 KVA /200 KVA/250 KVA capacity Three phase, 230/415 Volts,
50Hz A.C. with all standard features, safeties etc.

Note: All Certificates, Test Reports, Permissions,NOC from the Concerning Security
Department as per the CPWD Norms& above specification shall have to be provided by the
bidder at the time of handover after final commissioning.
