At first, I thought that because it was a show being played in class, it was going to be boring. But
it turned out to be pretty good. It started off with an interesting scene where random numbers
were popping up with no explanation leaving a hook for the viewers. I personally feel like the
movie had a meaning and that’s why we watched it. I think the lesson it taught us is to like
people for who they are and not based on other people’s opinion. During the show we filled out a
sheet that got critically thinking about the show and how it relates to us in real life scenarios, I
personally could relate, because in real life people judge me and other around me based on what
other people have said and made up. Lacie was a clear target and from the moment Naomi
invited Lacie to her wedding I knew something was going to happen. Lacie wanted to move to a
nicer neighborhood but couldn’t unless she got her score up to a 4.6. Lacie initially thought that
by going to the wedding her score would increase due to the amount of people at the wedding
with high 4 ranks. One of the questions asks if I would use this app if it was a real app. My
answer is no, because if it was a real app the amount of discrimination and hurt it would cause
would affect our everyday lives. It would affect people’s self confidence and self esteem. In
today’s society us people, already have enough judgement towards each other that it already
affects our everyday lives. Towards the end of the show, I kind of had guessed earlier on that she
was going to lose rank. In the end she still showed up to her friend’s wedding and gave her
speech. It wasn’t looked upon as something good, but she said it because she learned from the
trucker that once she is as low as she is, She doesn’t have to care about what other people think
about her. Honestly, I feel like it was a great show and I look forward to watching another
episode in class.
