PROGRAM
EMCEE: Good evening to all of us.
We would like to thank everyone for gracing this very
momentous occasion because this is quite a very significant
event of her life and as they say, you only get to be 18 once.
Like Wendy in the movie Peter Pan, no more fairy tale stories
every night. She is now a real lady as she stepped onto the
much higher level of what we called LIFE. Ladies and gentlemen,
sit back as we groove, jive and enjoy her party for tonight…

INTRODUCTION
EMCEE: But before we go on, it is my great honor to introduce all
her family members for tonight. Without them, her life would be
empty and unhappy. Let us all give a big round of applause to
honor all the people whom she truly loved. Sabi nga, marami
tayong mahahanap na kapuso, pero iisa lang ang ating
kapamilya.

GRAND ENTRANCE OF THE DEBUTANTE

(Note: First song to be played is “Eye of the Tiger”, which is just
a blooper, needs adlib pretending it’s a technical problem. Next
song is “Lahing Pinoy” by Manny Pacquiao which is also a

blooper. Final song is “Beautiful in my Eyes” – real song for the
entrance)

EMCEE: And now…. guests, friends, ladies and gentlemen, let

us all stand as we welcome the debutant as a lady of grandeur,
now escorted by her ,
. Let’s give a big round of
applause to Miss Monica Aira C. Bocalan!

Emcee: Such a spectacular grand entrance by our lovely

debutante, I would say. And now to give a speech and a toast in
honor of our beautiful debutante, we would like to ask Daddy
Edmon on the stage.

18 ROSES
They say that being 18 means you are now legally permitted to
do things that an adult can do. It gives you the freedom and the
ticket to try new adventures and learn new things. The same
way being 18 means you have now come to an age where you
are expected to perform duties and be responsible to your
actions and do decisions that will make you a better person.
Like a flower that blooms and exudes its sweet scents to attract
bees and butterflies, the debutant will be swarmed on by 18
equally gentle bachelors.
So, without further ado, celebrate this important night by having
her first dance as she enters a new world of coming to an age.

May I introduce to you Monica’s very dashing brother for her first
dance, which is also celebrating his birthday today and will be
followed by her circle of 18 gentle bachelors who will offer her
roses that symbolizes love. Love which our dear debutant has
for her family and all the people in her life. Each bachelor after
giving the rose will dance with her for about a couple of minutes
with the background music dedicated by each guy to the
debutante… Let us invite them too, now.

18 BLUE BILL

Emcee: Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, let us make the night

more exciting by calling individuals who are extremely generous

to give our debutante, Monica Aira, a treasure of monetary
value. These individuals are truly blessed that they will be
sharing these blessings. For our first generous well-wishers…
may I call on

Emcee: Sorry for the intrusion in the continuous flow of our

celebration but we are nearing the most awaited part of the
evening, the reception… but before we partake of the
sumptuous buffet that catering has provided
for us, may we now call on Mr./Mrs.
to say grace.

Friends, let us share the sumptuous dinner prepared for us of our
gracious host. As the saying goes “Dinner is one of life’s
greatest pleasures.

(We will be calling on the table numbers. Once your table is

called, please join Monica on stage for your photo session with
her. Have your photo taken with her and then you can go
directly to the buffet tables provided by catering.)

18TREASURE CANDLES
EMCEE: Nag enjoy ba tayong lahat? Once again, a sumptuous
evening to one and all! It is my delight that you remain and let
us rejoice for that. Seems like our gorgeous debutant really
enjoyed tonight. Sabi nga ni mareng Willa Cather, an American
writer “Where there is great love, there are always
wishes.”
Because birthdays are always new beginnings, new endeavors
with new set of goals, sending birthday messages and wishes is
a tradition especially in our country, where we give high value to
family ties and relationship. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, I
present to you these 18 Wishers for our debutant. These are the
people close to the heart of our celebrant, and whom she listens
and confides to for inspiring words and friendly advices. May I
call on –

Many ancient cultures believed that smoke carried their prayers
to the heavens. So, at the count of three, let’s say “May all our
wishes come true” and blow our candles together. 1, 2, and 3…
Thank you, well-wishers, I am sure you made Monica the
happiest girl tonight!

18 SHOTS
Now, let us moved on to the 18 shots ritual. A toast or a drink is
taken to honor our debutant. These eighteen important people
are chosen to honor our lady of the night. These people need to
finish their well-wishes first before the actual toasting. Now, let
us have….

What we just did symbolizes commitment and triumph. Our lady
tonight is considered victorious because she is able to reach the
debutant age and it is a great time for this kind of celebration. To
toast with her long-lasting victory of her life, through thick and
thin, ups and downs, right and wrong and sometimes good and
bad times of life. And also, always keep in mind to be
responsible with all your acts. Congratulations, Monica! You are
now of legal age!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG/BLOWING OF CANDLES
Let me share another good-to-know trivia to everyone on how
birthday cakes and candles came about as a tradition during
birthdays. Some believe that the tradition of birthday candles
began in Ancient Greece. Putting candles on a cake was a

special way to pay tribute to the Greek moon goddess, Artemis.
They baked round cakes to symbolize the moon. Candles were
added to represent the reflected moonlight. Today’s tradition of
making wishes before blowing out the birthday candles may
have started with that belief. Enough of all those did-you-know
trivia because at this part of the program, our lovely and
stunning MONICA will blow the candles on her birthday cake.
And to complete that customary practice, let us all sing joyfully
a song I am very sure everybody is familiar with, the happy
birthday song!
There we have it, Monica Aira is now a lady! Happy birthday,
dear!
I believed that the proud parents, Mr. Edmon and Rezel
Bocalan, would love to say something for their daughter.

THANK YOU, SPEECH, FROM MONICA

EMCEE: Tonight’s celebration tells me that the best
demonstration of gratitude in response to a wonderful
experience like this one can be contained in an overwhelming
thank you. Maraming salamat po for making me a part of this
memorable occasion.

And if there’s one person here tonight who is more than

grateful to see all of you, aside from the proud parents,
that would be our beloved celebrant, MISS MONICA AIRA.
I’m giving the floor to our dear debutant to give her
message for all of us.

The night is still young, and so are we, diba? Are you ready to
party? We have just actually started. Again, thank you for having
me here to celebrate with all of you. Isang malakas na “Happy
birthday, Monica! naman diyan. At the count of three…1, 2, 3,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MONICA! Our debutant is not just a pretty face
but also a very talented lady. To get the real party started, throw
your hands up in the air for MONICA with the
MOBILE! This is your host for tonight, FFELICES
CHRISTY C. CORDERO, enjoy the rest of the night everyone!
