Task1

The table and pie charts illustrate police funding in a particular area of Britain
between 2017 and 2018. The table below demonstrates the sources of money
and the charts depict how it was allocated for.
Overall, it can be seen in the table that the total police budget witnessed an
upward trend, with the main sponsor being National Government sources.
Looking at the charts, the amount of salaries accounts for the highest percentage
over the period.
According to the table, the total police budget source was 304,7m in 2017
before experiencing a rapid increase to 318,6 in 2018. National Government
was the main source with 175,5m in 2017 and 177,8 in the next year, which was
higher than other sources. Following this, local taxes were taken at the second
rank, with 91,2m in the first year and then dramatically rising to 102,3m in
2018. Meanwhiles, other sources like grants were the lowest faction part staying
around 38 both years.
Turning to the pie charts, the amount of money allocated for salaries paid to
officers and staff was higher than in other parts, with made up 75% in 2017 and
dropped slightly to 69% in 2018. Additionally, recording an adverse trend was
spending on technology, there was slow growth from 8% to 14% over two
years. In contrast, the building remained unchanged, with taken up the
remaining 17% in two years.

Task 2
Nowadays, with the innovation in the technology of smartphones which become
more popular with people in over the world. Especially, some children spend
using smartphones every hour day, and there are feasible reasons behind this
trend. In my estimation, I believe it is detrimental for children to use
smartphones excessively.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why the young generation uses
smartphones daily. To begin with the lack of parental supervision, parents who
are busy with work, and undertake to take care of their children do not have
enough time to control their child’s phone usage time. Besides, the convenience
of smartphones is extremely attractive to children, which have a lot of functions
for study and entertainment. They use smartphones as tools to help them access
knowledge and find happiness to reduce stress.
On the other hand, there are a number of disadvantages to development when
children spend hours every day on smartphones. The principal one this that their
health will be affected, which is their nervous system and eyes are easily
impaired. Another point worth concerning is that children become dependent on
these devices. They are easily addicted to smartphones and do not spend time
with their parents and other healthy activities. With study, children will be
passive thanks to the support of the internet in smartphones.
In conclusion, the young generation spends a lot of time on smartphones
because of parental control and convenience. However, using smartphones all
time will be a problem for children’s health and passivity.
