Computer networking project

Individual Project: 0/20pts

Hardware: RAM for clients 256 and 512 for the servers

-Students OU: 3 Students student1, student 2, student 3 and password: AUCA@2020

-HR OU: 2 Users – HR1,2,3 and password: AUCA@2020

-IT OU: 2 users : IT1,IT2,3 and password: AUCA@2020

-Finance OU: Fin1,Fin2,3 and password: AUCA@2020

IP subnet: 192.168.10.0/24

Domain: student1@chogm.rw

In this project you will need to have 2 Windows DC: DC Main

Instructor: Jean Pierre Niyodusenga

Deploy 2 Servers(Redhat Server, DC Server)

1. RHEL Server with the following services: telnet, DHCP, Samba, FTP,SSH
2. Linux DHCP should assign IP address automatically to all nodes on the
network. Note: servers should have static IP addresses.
3. Users on Linux client and windows client should be able to access all services
above.
4. Users on windows should access all services as well, for ssh on windows use
PUTTY to access Linux server.
5. Deploy DC with windows 2003 server and create 4
OUs:IT,HR,students,Finance
6. Create 3 users in each OU names and password should be according to
guidelines above
7. Users from students OU should have the 3apps (*.msi) that are deployed
from GPO those apps should be light and useful.(vlc.msi,Mozilla.msi)-GPMC-
GPO
8. In the DC Create a directory named generator and share it across the
networked PCs, The shared resource should be mapped automatically upon
students logging into the system.
9. Student1 is allowed to login all morning hours and he should only login PC1
while his colleagues are allowed to login all machines and every day in the
afternoon only.
10. The account for the student1 who logs in morning hours should expire by the
end of December 15, 2023
11. The two other student2, 3 who can access all PCs should have their files and
docs including desktop files should follow them wherever they login and they
should have all the resources shared from the server mapped automatically
upon logon. –Roaming profile should be configured
12. The users from windows PC should be able to access services configured in
the Linux server where they will access without any problem. When it comes
to ftp service ftp client (CoreFTP or Filezilla) should be used to give access
to the server resources.
13. Exchange server should be implemented to make sure that users can be able
to communicate (send email via outlook )in the intranet without having
internet in their premises,
14. The Linux server as well should access resources shared in windows server
2003 vice versa. Via samba services

15. Deploy a Web server on windows server 2003 and through IIS create a
simple site with 3 pages linked together and they can be accessible through
all clients- Windows and linux .

Caution: Kindly virtualize the above network environment and the network should
be mainly composed of the following:

-1 red hat server

-1redhat client
-1DC 2003 server
-2 XP PCs

Good luck!
