Richard LaGravenese and based on the true story of Erin Gruwell, portrayed
by Hilary Swank, takes a job as a high school English teacher in a troubled
inner-city school. She encounters a classroom filled with students from
different racial and ethnic backgrounds who have little hope for their futures.
The students are divided by racial tensions, gang affiliations, and personal
struggles. Erin Gruwell, a dedicated teacher, introduces her students to
literature and writing through books like "The Diary of Anne Frank." She
encourages journaling and fosters a strong connection with her students,
fostering tolerance and understanding. As they develop confidence and
writing skills, they become a "family" and win a prestigious competition.
"Freedom Writers" showcases the transformative power of education in
breaking the cycle of violence and poverty.

I was really amazed the teacher because of her patience and the way she
handled her pride when I saw first the video I didn’t liked the flow of the story I
felt boring but I still watch it because I was curious why the movie title is
“Freedom Writers” until I saw the part when the teacher assigned her students
to wrote their own story and they wrote their past experiences that part of the
movie when I started to liked it and I’ve learn some lesson from the movie
freedom writers

Overall, "Freedom Writers" teaches us about the potential for positive change
through education, empathy, and perseverance, and it emphasizes the
importance of believing in and supporting every student's potential, regardless
of their background or circumstances.
