Chapter 1 Introduction
Libraries:
• AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries 3.2/0.
For a full overview of all valid tool versions for the different controller versions

1.5 Compatibility
Control Builder A 1.2/0 is fully compatible with the previous version of Control Builder A and
AMPL Control Configuration.
For compatibility of the Builders components see the corresponding release notes.
This version of Control Builder A is not compatible with older versions of AdvaBuild for
Windows.
1.6 Restrictions
The Control Builder A and its options are based on Windows NT 4.0 and
Windows 2000.
The following restrictions apply:
• Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 in US English or German are supported for
working stand alone.
• Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 in US English is supported for working integrated in Advant
Engineering Workplace.
• Microsoft Windows 2000 in US English is supported for working integrated in Industrial
IT.
• Control Builder A uses TCP/IP network protocol when running in a network environment.
• When working in a network environment peer-to-peer connection is not supported.
• Writing of application dump to PCMCIA cards is not supported under Windows 2000
except on Advant Station 140 Engineering Station.
PC and DB Elements Reference Manuals are listed in the AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries
3.2/0 release notes.
PC and DB Elements Reference Manuals for Advant Controllers are installed as *.pdf files
together with AMPL PC and DB Element Libraries 3.2/0.
