Introduction

Teaching English For Young Learners (TEYL) is a mandatory course

for English language education students. This course provides an overview
of students how a teacher goes forward in teaching English to children -
children in elementary school or beginners. This lecture aims to make
students familiar with and able to teach language strategies English for
children as knowledge, insight, awareness and skills. The content of the
material reviewed includes the context of learning English for children, how
a child learns language, child language development, child characteristics as
language learners, developing English language learning for children,
learning resources and learning technology for children, learning
assessment for children. Lectures carried out through learning activities in
the classroom, observations or observations field, structured assignments
both in class and within the classroom. Evaluation is carried out based on
class participation, assignments, and end-of-semester exams.

The achievements in learning include strengthening attitudes and

knowledg and student skills. The learning process can be said to be
successful if all aspects are successful learning can support each other in
creating a situation that is conducive to activities learning. A good learning
process will certainly influence understanding students regarding the
material presented by the lecturer. The main target of learning activities lies
in the student's learning process, which must prioritize student learning
active, because the target of education is the student's learning process, not
just learning measuring student learning outcomes. However, in the
learning process they are still discovered obstacles in learning activities.
Applying the lecture method for lecturers is the easiest method to manage
class and can pursue the target material that must be completed. With the
role lecture method The lecturer is very dominant, the lecturer is the subject
of conveying information, the lecturer is the center attention, the lecturer
talks more while the students listen or take notes important thing.
Communication that occurs tends to be one way where the
communication tool is The main use is speaking. Because communication
occurs only in one direction, the process teaching and learning becomes less
interesting and even boring. Still though Many still use the lecture method
without any other variations. Based on the results of a pre-observation
survey conducted by researchers on the eyes TEYL lessons are known to be
one of the obstacles felt by lecturers TEYL learning is a lack of
collaboration between students during learning taking place and during
class discussions, while students' abilities are not the same. With
cooperation, it is hoped that capable students will help less capable students
competent, likewise less capable students dare to ask capable students in
TEYL learning.
