Microsoft word is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. It is made and
developed by the Microsoft team. It’s key features includes high accessibility, easy formulation,
simple addition and removal of data among many others. Over there a document once created by
someone can be used by someone else for future corrections or additions/subtractions.
Moving on , further Microsoft Word also performs other key functions such as
Menu bar- The Menu Bar at the top of the screen gives you access to different
commands that are used for such tasks as opening and closing files, printing
documents, formatting data, and other operations.
Toolbar-It provides quick access to a number of the most commonly used Excel
features. The first bar is the Standard Toolbar; the second is the Formatting
Toolbar.
Standard Toolbar-The buttons, from left to right are: New Worksheet, Open
Worksheet, Save, Print, Print Preview, Spell Check, Cut, Copy, Paste, Format
Paint, Undo, Redo, Insert Hyperlink, Web Toolbar, AutoSum, Function Wizard,
Sort Ascending, Sort Descending, Chart Wizard, Mapping, Drawing, Zoom, and
Help. Each of these features can also be initiated from one of the pull-down
menus.
The Formatting Toolbar - The buttons are, from left to right: Font Type, Font
Size, Bold, Italics, Underline, Margins (left, center, right, merge & center,)
Currency Style, Percent Style, Comma Style, Increase Decimal, Decrease
Decimal, Decrease Indent, Increase Indent, Borders, Fill Color, and Font Color.
Each of these features can also be initiated from one of the pull-down menus.
The Drawing toolbar- It contains a collection of icon buttons that allows the
user to draw shapes and images in the document.
Horizontal and Vertical ruler - The horizontal ruler will then appear at the top
of your document and the vertical ruler will appear down the left hand side.
You can then use this ruler tool to format your work.
Status bar- The status bar is the area at the bottom of the Word window.It
indicates information about the current document.It displays information
about what page you are on, as well as your line number on the page and
character number on the line.
View buttons- They also appear on the “View” tab of the Ribbon in the “Views”
button group and the “Immersive” button group. Clicking any of these buttons
changes the working view of your document.
