Introduction:

Basically, the stoichiometry deals with the quantities of substances which

enter into and are produced by chemical reactions. Stoichiometry gives the
quantitative relationship between reactants and products in a chemical
reaction. It can be utilized in microbial technology also.

Aim:

We will be able to understand the principles of stoichiometry, and how to calculate

the amount of substances of one or more reactant.

Materials:
K2CO4, H2O, FeCl3s solution, beaker, distilled water, ice bath, filter paper, pipet,
graduated cylinder, funnel, flask, watch glass, spoon, heater and oven.

Procedures:
1. First of all we weigh 4g of K2C2O4.H2O into a 100ml beaker.

2. Then we add 8ml of distilled water.

3.heat the compound without boiling it, we only want to dissolve it.

4. measure 4 ml of fecl3 then add it to a beaker when it’s still hot.

5- the mix should appear in green color.

6- put it in an ice bath and wait for it to participate.

7- weigh the filter paper / the participate will remain on the filter paper.

*Let it dry then weigh it with the product*

Data:
1-calculate the number of moles.
The mass of fecl3 is
N(k2cro4)= mass/mwt n(fecl3) = .1/162.2
0.4/4= 0.1 g
=4/212.22 =0.0006165 moles

=0.01884 moles so it’s the limiting reactant

2- to find the theoretical we need the molar mass of (k3fe(c2o4)3.3h2o)

So: 0.0006165 * (545.31)

=0.3361g the theoretical weight

3-find the actual weight:

=Wt (petri+ filter paper + ppt)

128.9220= 105.3104+ 11.8547+ppt

participate = 11.76 g

4- Now we’ll determine the yield percentage:

% yield = (actual yield / theoretical) *100%

= (11.76/0.3364) *100%

= 35.5%

Conclusion:

We calculated the yield of our compound, how to find the limiting reactant,

the differences between the actual and theoretical, excess and limiting
