MAIN IDEA
1. Adequate nutrition for children's growth and
development, specifically focusing on the role of
fruit and vegetables in providing essential
micronutrients. (intent)

The study findings revealed that the


incorporation nutrition education as part of
Sciences curriculum may have contributed to
an increase in caring for nutritive value of
foods, in fresh vegetables preference and at
some extent in adolescent’s nutritional needs,
with a decrease in soda drinks. Indeed,
slightly more than half (53.8%) of the
adolescents demonstrated that they cared
about the nutritive value and healthiness of
their foods with a higher proportion (68.4%)
among grade 3 group as compared to grades
1–2 group (40%)

With regards to sources of students nutrition


information, as shown in Figure 2, for both
groups family was referred as essential in
determining the students eating habits in
39.8% of cases, 33.2% for school, versus 27%
for other sources.
