A drug formulary is a continually updated list of medications


and related information which are routinely stocked by the
health care system and advised by the clinical judgment of
the Pharmacy and Therapeutic committee.

The formulary process is the preparing, using & updating of


the formulary list and the formulary manual (providing

Formulary Essential Drug List (EDL) (WHO List) should be always


available within a functioning health system, in adequate
process amounts, in the appropriate dosage forms with assured
quality at a price the community can afford.

Essential medicines are selected (added or deleted) in regard

comparative cost effectiveness.
