Industry Report

The teaching industry has faced many struggles in the past, but the industry still

continues to face struggles on a daily basis, especially after COVID-19. some school fundings,

location of school, schools budget, the economy, technology, and the students themselves.

Funding for schools and the budget are a teaching industry struggle because of the fact that some

schools may not be able to have the funds that they need to accommodate resources for the

students and even staff to allow them to learn/teach to the best of their ability. For location of

school and economy, it depends on the location of the area of the school, lower income

communities would not have as many resources for their school as a higher income community

would have for their schools since the schools funding comes from a little over half of a person's

property taxes. and the students themselves, some of them have to take care of themselves

because their parents may not take care of them or are unable to. those students find that survival

is more important than schooling so they may be up all night doing things they have to do, while

instead of learning at school, they fall asleep in class. Or their parents don't hold them

accountable and or help them, so the student does not care about schooling. there is other

features like bullying and cyberbullying as well. Some other things that the teaching industry

faces is the lack of male teachers, pay, and career shortage. those are just some of the main

struggles that the teaching industry faces.

Luckily there are resources teachers can use to help with theses struggles and some of

the resources are associations that the teachers can join, some of them, but not all of them are

listed, some include the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development,

the Association of American Educators, the National Education Association, the Association for

Supervision and Curriculum Development is a global outlook for education from all around the

world. It is for teachers, administrators, and other professionals that have a job that is related to

education. it helps the person in the association gain opportunity to improve teaching skills by

having access to workshops and conferences and any information on any breakthroughs in the

education field. The Association of American Educators is for professional development and

advocacy for teachers, but also providing the best environment in the classroom for both

teaching and learning. It also includes the access to legal defense and liability insurance. There is

also opportunities to earn scholarships and grants offered to teachers by this association. The

National Education Association is one of the largest organizations in the education field. its main

purpose is to ensure that as many Americans and there possibly can be have access to quality

education and serves as a teacher advocate over the nation. Each state in the US. has a separate

division of the NEA which allows the teachers to have access to resources to deal with issues

that are personally affecting their school.
