1. All instructional materials are aids to instruction. They do not replace the teachers.
This means that instructional materials cannot replace the role of teachers in guiding and
facilitating the learning process. Teachers are still the primary facilitators of learning and instructional
materials used by teachers are simply tools in supporting and enhancing their role as a teacher. It is
important for a teacher to use instructional materials thoughtfully and purposefully to support and
enrich their instruction and enhances the learning experience of their student. Since, teachers are
essential in providing context, explanation, and personalized support that cannot be replaced by using
instructional materials.
2. Choose the instructional material that best suits your instructional objectives.
This means that when we are choosing instructional materials, we need to make sure that they
are connected to our instructional objectives. Our materials or tools should complement the goals and
objectives of our subject matter to enhance and support the learning experience of our students. We
need to consider the content, format, and relevance of materials used in our instruction to make the
teaching and learning process more effective and efficient.
This means that instead of relying on a single approach or tool, a teacher should incorporate a
variety of methods and resources in their instruction. By using a variety of tools, the teacher can create
a more comprehensive and well-rounded learning environment that cater to the different learning
strength and weaknesses of students. Using various tools allows teachers to reach visual, auditory,
tactile, and other types of learners effectively. By doing so, students are able to learn in ways that work
best for them, which ultimately leads to better understanding and retention of the material.
4. Check out your instructional material before class starts to be sure it is working properly.
Before your class starts, it is crucial to check your instructional materials thoroughly to ensure
that everything is functioning properly, such as PowerPoint presentations, educational videos, and
other visual aids. To ensure that there are no interruptions or potential delays while delivering
instructions. This will allow you to deliver your instructions smoothly and effectively, without worrying
about any last-minute problems.
2. What common instructional materials does your cooperating teacher use in his or her classes?
My cooperating teacher always makes sure to keep our classroom sessions exciting and
engaging for all students. She uses a wide array of instructional materials such as PowerPoint
presentations, educational videos, visual aids, posters, models, chalkboards, textbooks, worksheets,
art supplies, and educational games. She even incorporates manipulatives and hands-on activities to
help students grasp the concepts better and make learning more engaging.
3.Do the top 10 most used instructional materials of your cooperating teacher used more than one
sense?
Yes, the top 10 most used instructional materials used by my cooperating teacher engage
multiple senses. PowerPoint presentations, visual aids, educational posters, and models all engage
the sense of sight. Educational videos engage the sense of sight and hearing. Chalkboard use
engages both sight and touch. Textbooks and worksheets engage the sense of sight and touch as
students read and write. Art supplies engage the sense of touch and sight as students create and
observe their work. Educational games engage multiple senses as students use their hands to
manipulate game pieces and their sight to understand the game. All in all, these materials cater to
different learning styles and keep students actively involved in the learning process by engaging
multiple senses.
