1. Being Alice, what is the problem that you are dealing with?

A team member started to lose interest in her work and it is affecting the whole team
because the quality of her work is going down. The lost of interest in her work is because
she wants to develop hardware interfacing skills rather that what the project product
direction has chosen. Dorothy is doing work that she is not confident with.

2. What might be a possible solution that could effectively address the problem?
Since it has been said that Dorothy is doing work she is not motivated to develop, Alice
can try and convince Dorothy to give it a try again and provide Dorothy with trainings that
could help her in current project. And also try to encourage Dorothy that this project will
widen her experience in the her career.

3. What additional information that you need in order that your solution will have a greater
impact on the problem?
I think Alice needs to know more about the Dorothy’s personal difficulties and what the
other team members think about how Dororthy is doing and encourage the whole team
to be more open with each other.

4. How will you know if the solution was effective?

We will the the solution was effective or not if there is an increase or decrease in
Dorothy’s work quality and by how Dorothy interacts with her colleagues.

5. What should you do if the solution was not effective?

I think when the solution was not effective maybe it is right for Dorothy to pursue
developing her hardware interfacing skills and that Dorothy should be transferred to a
project where she can use this skill.
